CO R NE RSTO N E N E WS The vision of Cornerstone Community Church is to be full of Christ s love and see souls saved through the power of the Holy Spirit. March 2017 Cornerstone Community Church Newsletter Greetings, Cornerstone Family! It looks like winter outside my office window as I write for this newsletter, but thankfully it won t last long. I think all of us are ready for spring! Hopefully March will not disappoint us. Speaking of March, we have an exciting theme beginning on Sunday, March 12th. It is called I Love My Church! This is the second series in our yearlong campaign to Come Grow With Us! This past Sunday, I finished a short, 3 week sermon series on Growing in Faith. If you missed any or all of those sermons, you can find them on our church s website; either in video format on the SERMON page or in audio format by clicking on the link near the bottom of the HOME page. Faith is essential for growth spiritual growth and numerical growth. The Bible tells us that without faith it is impossible to please God. We need faith for salvation. Without a saving relationship with God through faith in Christ, it is impossible to grow spiritually and thereby please God. We need faith to pray; for ourselves, others and our church. Without prayer it is impossible to rightly determine God s will for our lives and the ministry of the church. Prayer is absolutely essential if we want to please God. And we need faith to trust in God to provide for us; for each of us individually and for our church. Without this faith in his providence we will take matters into our own hands and likely bring much pain into our lives and our church. A mark of spiritual maturity is when we increasingly trust God to provide for our every need. Without this faith/trust it is impossible to please God. Now, having looked at Growing in Faith, we move our attention to Growing in Love. We are going to look at this from a number of different perspectives, especially when it comes to loving the church. This series will be 5 weeks long and take us up through Palm Sunday. I will begin this series by clarifying what we mean (or ought to mean) when we say I love my church! Please pray for a number of things as we continue in this year of growth: 1) Pray for me as I lead us through this year of growth and my preparation for each series I develop, and each sermon I write and share with you. 2) Pray for our church leaders as they not only help me in this year of growth, but also that they may grow as well! 3) Pray for yourself, that you will recognize areas in your own life (especially in terms of your relationship with God) where you need to grow and mature. 4) Pray for God s mighty protection over each of us and our church as we grow, for the devil does not want to see any of us grow and mature, and he certainly doesn t want our church to grow either. May God grow our faith in Him, and our love for Him and others! Pastor Bill s Office Hours Tuesday-Thursday 9:00-2:00 Contact information Cell Phone: (218) 790-2192 Home Phone: (360) 305-5024 Email: PastorHelland@comcast.net... without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him..
