ENVELOPES Dear Parishioners, When you receive your new set of envelopes you will notice that in your packet there will be a parish 50/50 envelope. Starting in January we will be doing a monthly fundraiser. Your envelope will be marked Parish 50/50 and it will be gold. Each month we will be collecting these envelopes and will announce the winner on the first Sunday of each month. Each 50/50 chance is $10.00 and is clearly marked on the outside of the envelope. You must put only $10.00 in each envelope, no more or less so we can make it fair for all who are participating. You need to be registered in the Parish in order to receive these envelopes. Remember if you do not have a parish ID# you are not a registered member. We will have gold envelopes in the back of church if you forget yours or want to participate. (Example If 50 people put in $10.00 that is $250.00 to the winner!) If you would like to be registered please come by the rectory during normal business hours. 2016 CONTRIBUTIONS All contributions to your 2016 commitment to Saint Thomas Aquinas Parish received by December 31st, 2016, will be recorded on your 2016 statement that you will be receiving no later than January 31st, 2017. Any contribution received after December 31st, 2016 will be credited to your contributions for 2017. Thank you for your continued generosity to the Parish of Saint Thomas Aquinas. TAXES AND GIVING AT CHRISTMAS AND THE END OF THE YEAR Did you know that charitable giving is one of only a few tax provisions that was not greatly impacted by recent federal tax legislation. Many people enjoy using Christmas and year s end as a special time to give to their parish or favorite Catholic institutions and also positively impact their federal and state income tax. Christmas and year end giving provides many advantages to you the donor. All gifts, made on or before December 31st, are tax deductible for the tax year in which the gift is made. If you are an itemizer, your gift will lessen your tax liability for the tax year in which your gift is made. If you are not an itemizer, your Christmas gift may be just the right decision to allow you to itemize and lower your tax bill (check with you tax advisor). Most importantly, make a return to God for your blessings at Christmas and assist our Catholic institution attain its spiritual and programmatic goals - serving God s people and His church here on earth. Please be advised that we can only send out letters to parishioners who use the envelops, we are unable to substantiate cash placed in the collection basket. Throughout the year a few parishioners place checks in the collection basket instead of using their parish envelopes; please know that these checks have not been recorded in our parish data program and your end of the year statement will not reflect these contributions.

Come celebrate the Feast of ST. THOMAS AQUINAS INTERNATIONAL FAMILY FOOD FESTIVAL Saturday, January 28, 2017 7:00 pm 11:00 pm Monsignor King Hall between Avenue P & Flatlands Avenue in Brooklyn, NY ADULTS: $20.00 YOUTH UNDER 12 YEARS: $5.00 ***All youth under 18 years old must be accompanied by an adult.***
