August 24, 2016 From the Pastor s Desk Proverbs 10:22King James Version (KJV) 22 The blessing of the LORD, it maketh rich, and he addeth no sorrow with it. Truly we are Blessed of God and we are rich in every area of our lives and there is no sorrow in our blessings. Grace and Peace to all the people of God. I trust and pray this letter finds you lifting up the name of Jesus. Well summer is just about over, vacations, swimming parties, family reunions and the host are coming to an end for this year. Schools are in session and our children need our prayers to cover and protect them each and every day. As we go forward in the season of fall, let us remember to reap the fruits of our harvest we planted in the spring. Let us gather the Word of God and share it with our neighbors. Our Women s Ministry is up and running. There are a lot of wonderful ideas in the planning so please make every effort to be there. Nancy Doer and Monika Conkle are hard at work preparing for this year s events, so won t you come and lend a helping hand. If you did not attend our annual picnic, you missed a treat. We played bingo, won prizes, ate all kinds of food, measured the largest bubble and smashed watermelons (eating them that is). Next year is promised to be even better and plans are already in the making. Whatever you do, you don t want to miss the 107 th church anniversary here at St. Luke with Bishop Dillahunt, Sunday, September 4 th at our 10am service. We are indeed in for a treat any time Bishop brings us the Word of God. She is anointed and called by God for such a time as this. Please continue your faithfulness to the services, continue your giving and we pray God s blessings on you and your family always. In His Service, Rev. Marjorie McDaniel-Burnett 2 P a g e
