The Third Sunday of Lent Saturday and Sunday March 3 & 4, 2018 www.stjudecatholic.org This Sunday March 4, 2018 Candlelight Vigil for Peace and Healing 6:30pm in Church To Always Love Our Children A Parish Ministry for Parents of Homosexual Children In response to inquiries from parishioners, Saint Jude is initiating a new ministry for parents of gay children. Facilitated by Father Trey, this ministry will provide parents with a comfortable environment in which to share their struggles, joys, and other thoughts about their journey with homosexual children. As part of this conversation, the group will be invited to read and reflect on the pastoral letter written by the U.S. Catholic Bishops, entitled, Always Our Children: A Pastoral Message to Parents of Homosexual Children and Suggestions for Pastoral Ministers. Parents who are interested in being part of this group are invited to either call the Parish Office (225-766-2431) or email Father Trey directly at fathertrey@stjudecatholic.org. There is no set date for our first meeting. This will be planned according to the response received.

Cooks Needed: Everyone loves home cooked meals! We need your help to make the Home Cooking booth another success at this year s fair being held April 20-22, 2018. All parishioners, young and old, seasoned or new cooks, are encouraged to donate a favorite food dish to our Home Cookin Booth. Simple and easy: Prepare meal in advance of the fair weekend, package and freeze. Then deliver it to the Home Cookin Booth located directly outside the school cafeteria on Friday, April 20th. Meals should be packaged in serving sized portions, (i.e. 2, 4, 6 servings per container) and in containers that you are willing to part with (plastic freezer containers, foil pans, etc.). Please include a label on each container with the following information: Chef s Name (optional) Recipe Name/Description No. of Servings Cooking/Heating Instructions Ingredients (what s in it - not the quantities, for those with food allergies) A sign-up table will be set up outside of church after all Masses on the weekends leading up to the fair, so please feel free to stop by and ask questions and/or to drop off completed registration forms. Completed forms can also be mailed to the church of ice, submitted by FAX to 225-766-0722 or emailed to Charmaine Biossat at charmaineb@stjudecatholic.org.
