Mel s Empowerment Manifesto You are never powerless over your thoughts
Dear fellow Endo Sister, I know how disempowering Endometriosis can feel. I endured 15years of feeling disempowered with my health, my body and particularly Endometriosis. It all changed when I started my Endo Empowered website back in 2010. The mission: To find a cure for myself and my body. Yes, I was under the false illusion that curing required an outside force, a pill, a supplement, a special diet, or perhaps surgery? After searching and searching, I finally realised that what I really needed was simply to support my body and it would figure it all out on it s own. There is no cure because we really don t need one. All we need to do is REACH for a cure! REACH with both hands, hold on tight and give it all we have. The REACH Technique was created to support the body to help us successfully manage Endometriosis. Find out more about the REACH Technique on my website. Every single one of us has the power to change our current situation, no matter how severe our Endometriosis is. We can create that change and find a way to move forward. All we need to do is become Empowered. Endo Empowered So next time you are feeling flat, tired or sad about having Endometriosis, know two things: 1. You are not alone 2. You can change your current situation. It all starts with how you think.
Where are you at? Can you shift it? Open to change Assertive Closed to change Non-assertive or aggressive Self-accountable Proactive Using feelings Blaming others Reactive Overwhelmed by feelings Learning from mistakes Debilitated by mistakes Confronting Avoiding Living more in the present Open to new ideas Scared of new ideas Thinking in relatives Thinking in absolutes Seeing alternatives Like yourself Tunnel vision Dislike yourself Valuing others Negating others Alert to what others need Self focused and selfish Limitless Stuck and scared Past or future-orientated
The Words we choose I hate my body and endometriosis My body is an amazing vessel to allow me to explore life & love. Endometriosis has many lessons to teach me. Nothing I have tried is working. Every step I take is leading me closer to feeling better. There is no cure, so there is nothing I can do. I know my body wants to heal itself. I can support it in any way possible to encourage that process. I can t endure this pain anymore. I am strong and even this shall pass. I will listen to this message of pain and provide for my body. No-one understands me or what I am going through. I know there are others with Endometriosis. I will find others who can support and understand my experience. I am limited to improve my health and endometriosis because of money, time, commitment, partners, friends etc. Whatever it is that I need, I will find a way to attain it.
We can be Endo Empowered Become clear about what you want to achieve for your health & managing endometriosis and how you might make it happen. i.e. I am going to feed my body really nourishing foods for one month. Research possibilities and examine options. i.e. I am going to explore every possibility and try new things Honour your body and listen to what it needs. i.e. I will give my body nourishing foods, pure water and give it tender care Believe that your situation can improve. i.e. Everyday is an opportunity for improvement and possibility. Make decisions in this moment that will transform your experience in the future. i.e. No thanks! I don t need chocolate cake today.
You are an incredibly strong spirit. You have the power within you to shift any situation, feeling or experience. All you have to do is to decide that you are no longer going to play the game of being a victim in that situation. Decide right now, that things are going to be different. Shift your reality.
