Vivat Jesus, Joel Plante, District Master 01/15/2015 RESPECT LIFE REPORT: Ron Di Stasio State Pro-Life Director As mother to Our Savior, Mary was the first tabernacle for the Body of Christ. Tabernacles are sacred places which are uniquely protective. The Torah (the Word of God) is kept in a tabernacle. The body and blood of Jesus Christ is kept in a tabernacle. THE WOMB IS THE TABERNACLE FOR ALL THE PRE-BORN CHILDREN! Abortion is tantamount to desecration of the holy tabernacles. Let us continue to fight this desecration this coming year. January 17th is the annual March for Life in Concord. Please join us at the 10:00 Mass at St. John the Evangelist, celebrated by Bishop Libasci, and join us for the march from the State Capitol back to the church. It is a day we done our battle armor to show New Hampshire that 41 years of unfettered abortion is a tragedy which must come to an end!! February 7 th is the annual Birthright Dinner. My Brother Knights, in addition to extending their FREE ROOM AND BOARD for the 2015 incoming freshmen or transfer students, The College of Saint Mary Magdalen offering an early admissions discount of $2,000 as long as every component of the application is submitted by February 1, 2015 (see below). God Bless, <>< DD Jim Preisendorfer Free Room and Board To Any Freshman or Transfer Student Who Enrolls in 2015 Warner, NH: The College of Saint Mary Magdalen is pleased to announce that it will be extending its Free Room and Board Initiative to any freshman or transfer student who enrolls in 2015. The College of Saint Mary Magdalen initially launched this initiative in the spring of 2014 with the goal of making a faithful Catholic education more affordable to prospective students. "The success of the Free Room and Board Initiative and the quality of the students who have enrolled this year as a result has prompted the College to extend the initiative for another recruiting cycle," said Dr. George A. Harne, President of the College of Saint Mary Magdalen. Free Room and Board will be guaranteed to any student who participates until they graduate or leave the College. Over the past 25 years the cost of tuition in the United States has sky-rocketed and through the Free Room and Board Initiative the College of Saint Mary Magdalen hopes to make a true liberal arts education accessible to students who may not have been otherwise able to afford it. The reduction in cost represents an $8,000 discount worth more than $25,000 over four years. The College has a rolling admission process and will be actively accepting students throughout the school year. For information on how to apply, please contact the admissions office at 603.456.2656 or admissions@magdalen.edu The College of Saint Mary Magdalen is pleased to offer an early admissions discount of $2,000 as long as every component of the application is submitted by February 1, 2015. The College of Saint Mary Magdalen is also pleased to offer our four year full-tuition Presidential Scholarship. Please click here for more information. The College of Saint Mary Magdalen is one of only 28 colleges in the U.S. to be named to the Newman Guide to Choosing a Catholic College (www.thenewmanguide.com). The College offers a Great Books education rooted in the Catholic intellectual and spiritual traditions. Our fidelity to the Magisterium of the Church is a source of joy for our students, their parents, and our entire collegiate community. We are joyfully Catholic! STATE CHURCH DIRECTOR MESSAGE Brothers: My prayers are extended to you and your families for much peace, health and happiness during this blessed season of hope, light and love and continuing into the New Year. 2015 is fast approaching. There is much to do as our Church, our Pastors and our communities look to us for our continued support. Here are several ideas that can be incorporated into your Councils activities that will serve to support the Church and our Pastors. Immaculate Conception Icon: If your Council and local parish have yet to experience the beauty of the Immaculate Conception Icon, please contact me and I will assist you in obtaining the use of the Icon for your Council and parish needs. The Icon has made it to various parts of the state during the past year and we would like to extend the viewing time further to allow for additional Councils to participate. Included with the framed Icon are prayer cards that can be distributed at the time of a scheduled viewing and prayer booklets for Councils who choose to host a prayer service. I have no doubt that your Council members and parishioners will appreciate the opportunity to view and pray before the Icon. Please contact me at reib1@hallmark.com or 642-5631 to make arrangements for your Council and local parish. Patriotic Rosary: This is a personal favorite of mine. During my tenure as Grand Knight for the Exeter Council we began praying the Patriotic Rosary on Memorial Day 2013 and have prayed it every month since. This is a beautiful way for your Council to pray with the parish community for the preservation of religious liberty, to pray that our government leaders come to understand that our basic freedoms and liberties are God given and that our great country, formed on a foundation of faith, return to faith and grow in love and charity looking outwardly toward the needs of others. We meet once a month to pray the Patriotic Rosary in Exeter. It is always the same night each month (4 th Monday of the month) and same time. It is always advertised in advance in our Church bulletin and mentioned in the Pulpit Announcements. We have established a following. If you choose to do this, I would recommend that you adopt a similar formula for your Council and parish. This is my prayer, this is my goal: Imagine the impact we would make, the sheer power of prayer, if each Council in the state chose to participate in praying a Patriotic Rosary one night each month of the year on a continual basis. We would have the Patriotic Rosary being prayed each night of the week, every week of every month and every month for years on end. Please contact me and I will send you the outline you ll need to pray this beautiful prayer and let s set out to stand up for our faith with our greatest weapon in hand the rosary of our Blessed Mother. Day of Prayer for the Unborn: With the anniversary of Roe v. Wade in January, a church activity in support of the Culture of Life would be for your council to host a Day of Prayer for the Unborn. With the approval of your Pastor, set a date for a weekday Mass (Saturday) dedicated to life and the cessation of the culture of death. Request an Honor Guard presence at the Mass from your Assembly. Following the Mass, request that your Pastor or parish Priest lead the congregation in the praying of a Pro-Life Rosary. Adoration would then follow the praying of the Rosary. Adoration time may vary depending on church availability. This prayerful activity again draws in the community. Thank you to the Councils in Salem, Londonderry, Derry, Windham, Hudson and Litchfield for hosting an annual 24 Hour Vigil with Blessed Sacrament for Life. Blue Mass: In support of your community s police force, fire department and first responders, schedule a Mass (Saturday) with the approval of your Pastor. Enlist the aid of your Assembly s Honor Guard to be present at the Mass. Following Mass, host a reception for the local heroes that keep your communities safe every day of the year. May the New Year prove to be fruitful for our Councils and our Churches. Vivat Jesus Rob Eib State Church Director +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Page 8 of 10
