Sponsors must provide proof of eligibility by a letter from their respective pastors, must have received the Sacraments of Baptism, Communion and Confirmation. Sponsors, if married, must either be married in the Church or with the Church s permission. Parents must attend Baptismal Preparation, which is regularly scheduled throughout the year. Marriage: Arrangements must be made directly with the pastor at least 6 months before the date of the wedding. Marriage preparation is required and couples are asked to speak to the priest first before setting a date. Couples, rather than parents, should contact the priest. If either party was previously married, an annulment must be granted prior to the selection of a future wedding date. Bethlehem Christian Families After Masses at St. Thomas More University Parish on the weekend of March 30-31 we will welcome Roni Salsa representing the Bethlehem Christian Families, a nonprofit organization. He will have Crucifixes, religious art work, and rosaries- all made of olive wood which is native to Bethlehem. Christian families in the holy land and in the Middle East are facing persecutions on a daily basis. Their lives are in danger and their existence in the Land where Christianity started is in peril. The goal of this mission is to aid the poor and needy families in the Middle East. Sale of these goods will help them and give you the opportunity to have something authentic from the holy land. We hope to see you there! 21st annual Communities of Salt and Light Awards Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Greensburg will host the 21st annual Communities of Salt and Light Awards Dinner April 25 at 6 p.m. at Stratigos Banquet Centre, North Huntingdon. Bishop Malesic will present the awards for humanitarianism, philanthropy and outstanding human services organization. All net proceeds benefit people in need in the diocese s four counties. Rosary at 7:15 pm followed by the business meeting at 7:30 pm Saturday Mass, Soup and Bread Lunch at Diocesan Heritage Center in Lent The Diocesan Heritage Center will host Mass followed by a Soup and Bread Lunch on the remaining Saturdays in Lent (March 23 and 30; April 6 and 13). Mass is at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph Chapel at the Christ Our Shepherd Center. The simple lunch follows.
