BOOK GROUP Sunday, March 15, 7:00 pm, Wicoff Library Neon Rain by James Lee Burke Detective Dave Robicheaux has fought too many battles: in Vietnam, with killers and hustlers, with police brass, and with the bottle. Lost without his wife's love, Robicheaux's haunted soul mirrors the intensity and dusky mystery of New Orleans' French Quarter -- the place he calls home, and the place that nearly destroys him when he becomes involved in the case of a young prostitute whose body is found in a bayou. Thrust into the world of drug lords and arms smugglers, Robicheaux must face down a subterranean criminal world and come to terms with his own bruised heart in order to survive. 2

CHURCH OUTING PRINCETON PLASMA PHYSICS LABORATORY TOUR Friday, April 3 at 10:00 am Come see first-hand the exciting world of fusion energy research at PPPL! Visiting the U.S. Department of Energy s Princeton Plasma Physics Laboratory is a great opportunity to get a first-hand view of the laboratory where the quest to harness the power of the sun and the stars through fusion energy is taking place. The tours are led by engineers and physicists who can answer all your questions about magnetic fusion. View the new Star Power movie, take part in hands-on plasma demonstrations, visit the National Spherical Torus Experiment Control Room and see Quasar, the stellarator experiment! The tour is free, but you have to register. Register by sending an email to tours@pppl.gov, and they will send you a form. Let the church office know that you plan to attend and we will organize a group! CONTINUING STEWARDSHIP OF DEATH & DYING Sunday, April 19 during Sunday School Last year, we started a conversation about living wills, care choices and funeral options. We handed out Five Wishes, a book designed to help make important decisions about end-of-life care. On April 19, we will continue this conversation and finalize our booklets. If you need a booklet, contact the church office. SAFE CHURCH GIVING OPPORTUNITY Our Session has adopted a Safe Church Policy overseen by a Safe Church Committee. One of the tasks of the committee is to ensure that we have background checks on those persons who are with our children and youth. These checks cost about $15 each. We are asking those who cannot volunteer with our younger members to participate in their care by donating to the Safe Church fund which will be used to pay for these checks. If you can give $15 or $30, please bring it or send it to the church with Safe Church marked in the memo line. 5

MARCH SESSION NOTES The session of the First Presbyterian Church of Plainsboro met in the church library at 7:30 pm on February 25, 2015. Here are some highlights from the meeting: A half-day Session retreat has been scheduled on Saturday, April 18, 2015, for consideration of the budget and the future of our church. It was decided to withdraw from the parking lot agreement with WW-P School District and Plainsboro Township, in order to control usage of our portion of the lot. The President of Trustees will send a certified letter to the WW-P Board of Education and to Plainsboro Township advising them of this action. The Mission & Outreach committee was given permission to plan and supply the annual Easter Egg Hunt outreach activity with the intention of opening it to community. Eva Farrell was elected to serve as representative to the Nominating Committee, and Margie Molnar was appointed to serve as representative to the Memorial Committee. The Chess Club's request for use of the basement classroom, the Fellowship Hall, and the kitchen for one week of camp was approved (if the way be clear with respect to our previous summer camp tenant). The proposed Chess Camp schedule is M-F, 9 a.m. - 4 p.m., July 27-31, 2015. The next session meeting will be held on Wednesday, March 18, 2015, at 7:30 pm in the church library. One Great Hour of Sharing is an offering that makes the love of Christ real for individuals and communities around the world who suffer the effects of disaster, conflict, or severe economic hardship, and for those who serve them through gifts of money and time. Today, projects are underway in more than 100 countries, including the United States and Canada. In the 1990s, receipts have exceeded $20 million annually. While specific allocations differ in each denomination, all use their One Great Hour of Sharing funds to make possible disaster relief, refugee assistance, development aid and more. On Easter Sunday, April 5, we will collect the One Great Hour of Sharing offering. Special envelopes will be available in the bulletins on March.
