Encourage the children with the balls to go over to a friend who does not have a ball and share their ice cream by placing the ball from their cone onto their friend s cone without using their hands. Repeat several times. What You Say: Before the Activity: Let s share with our friends! During the Activity: (Give each child a cone and place the balls on a few of the cones.) Some of you have ice cream on your cones (point to the balls) and some of you only have cones. If you have ice cream, go to a friend who only has a cone and try to put your ice cream on their cone. But do not use your hands! This is going to be so much fun! (Do activity.) After the Activity: That was awesome! Nice job sharing the ice cream. It is so much fun to share with our friends. We are going to hear a Bible Truth today all about sharing. I can t wait! Transition: Move to Bible Time by telling the children that you cannot wait to SHARE the Bible Truth with them.
3 10:15 A Little or a Lot? What You Need: 8 empty and clean baby food jars marked with two lines of washi tape; several cotton balls, pony beads, pieces of tissue paper, and buttons What You Do: Before the Activity: The taped lines will reference having a little and a lot. Put the jars in pairs so that you have one a little jar next to an a lot jar. During the Activity: Explain that we re going to talk about what it means to have a little and a lot. Encourage the children to use the items you ve gathered (pom-poms, pony beads, buttons, etc.) to fill up the jars to the taped lines. Repeat with each item, filling up each pair of jars to the taped lines on the side. When finished, ask the children to point out which jars have a little and which jars have a lot. Once full, dump out the items and encourage them to refill the jars as long as time and interest allow. What You Say: Before the Activity: Look at all of these jars! (Point.) Let s fill them up and give some a little and some a lot! During the Activity: Do you see the tape here on the side of my jars? (Point.) Let s fill up one jar with cotton balls to this line and another jar with cotton balls up to this line. (Pause as children follow directions.) Great job! Now raise your hand and tell me which jar has a little and which jar has a lot. After the Activity: You did an awesome job filling our jars! In our Bible Truth today, we ll hear about what it means to have a little and a lot. I can t wait! Let s go! Transition: Move to Bible Time by calling out different items and asking the children to show you with their hands if they have a little or a lot of that item. For instance, You have some playground balls. What does it look like if you only have a little? (Demonstrate holding hands close together.) 4 June 24, 2018 Bible Focus: The Bible tells me to share my stuff. I Can Share My Stuff Acts 2:45 Memory Verse: Show me the right path, O LORD; point out the road for me to follow. Psalm 25:4, NLT Key Question: What tells you which way to go? Bottom Line: The Bible tells me which way to go. Basic Truth: God made me. God loves me. Jesus wants to be my friend forever. Journaling (Small Groups, 10 minutes) Journaling is designed to help preschoolers understand how the Bottom Line applies to them. They ll discuss real-life experiences and share prayer requests. Give each child a cup of Chex cereal to snack on while you take them through the following exercise. What you Need: Paperclip Memory Verse Card in your Bible at Psalm 25:4. Journal and a fun-shaped pen. Smiley Face Symbol Sticker labels. Reward stamps. SMALL GROUP LEADER (SGL): It s Small Group time! Today we re going to pretend to ride a scooter to our small group spot. Put your helmet on. (Pretend to put on a helmet.) Now grab your handlebars and hop on! We re riding to our Small Group spot! (Pretend to hold handlebars as you shuffle your feet to your Small Group spot.) Whew! What a ride! Take off your helmet and let s sit down so we can talk. One, two, three, sit down with me! (Pretend to take off your helmets.) Our Bible Truth today is about something that s hard to do sometimes, but it sure does make people smile. The Bible tells us we can share our stuff. We know we can trust the Bible because it has God s words in it and they are always true. So, if the Bible says sharing our stuff is the way to God, then sharing our stuff IS the way to go! What tells you which way to go? CHILDREN and SGL: [Bottom Line] The Bible tells me which way to go. SGL: You are so smart! Yes! [Bottom Line] The Bible tells me which way to go. We have been learning a Bible verse that helps us ask God to show us the way to go. We
5 are going to say it one time together and then anyone who wants to try and say it can give it a try. I have my stickers and hand stamp ready! Everyone stand up. (Open the Bible to the memory verse.) Just say what I say and do what I do. CHILDREN and SGL: Show me the right path (hands up like goggles), O LORD (point up); point out the road (point out and down) for me to follow (march), Psalm 25:4. (Hold out hands like a book.) SGL: Good job! (Two thumbs up.) Everyone sit back down. If you want to try and say the verse, raise your hand and we can take turns. Who wants to try and say the verse first? (Give each child the opportunity to say the verse on his own. Have your stickers/hand stamp ready to give when they say it.) I am so proud of you for trying to say the Bible verse! That took a lot of courage. Way to go! (Give each child a high five.) Okay, it s journal time. I love journal time because we get to write down what we want to pray about and then we talk to God. (Hold journal and fun-shaped pen.) We have three special stickers in our journal so far. First, we have the Bible picture. (Point.) It reminds us that [Bottom Line] the Bible tells us which way to go. Then we have a heart picture. (Point.) It reminds us that loving one another is the way to go. Then we have a praying hands picture. (Point.) It reminds us that we can talk to God anytime. Today we re going to add this one. (Hold up the Smiley Face Symbol Sticker. ) This smiley face picture reminds us that sharing our stuff is the way to go. It makes people smile! Let s put this sticker in our journal right here. (Place the sticker in the journal.) Sharing our stuff makes people smile and it makes us feel good inside too, but sometimes it s hard to do. We don t always want to share our stuff. But, since sharing is the way to go, I want us to make a list of things that are hard to share and then ask God to help us share them. Sound like a plan? When I call your name, tell me one thing you want God to help you share.
6 (Write each child s name and what they say beside their name. Remember to print the words they say so the children can recognize their names and the letters.) Thank you for helping make this list. Let s pray and ask God to help us share these things. Would anyone like to pray before I pray? (Give each child who wants to pray the opportunity to do so.) Prayer SGL: Dear God, we learned today that the Bible says sharing our stuff is the way to go. We want to do what You say because Your way is always best, but sometimes sharing is hard. Will you help us share? Please help [child s name] share [item listed] and... (say each child s name and what they listed). We want to make as many people smile as we can. We love You, God. In Jesus name, amen.

What You Say: Before the Activity: When someone shares a snack or a toy with you, does it make you smile (make a smiley face) or frown (make a frowning face)? Yes, it makes you smile! When YOU share your stuff with people, it makes them smile too! The Bible tells us that sharing our stuff is the way to go. What tells you which way to go? [Bottom Line] The Bible tells me which way to go! I think we need a sign to help us remember that sharing is the way to go. During the Activity: I m going to give each of you a circle ( Smiley Face Symbol 1 ) and a stick. Your job is to glue the Smiley Face Symbol 2 to one side of the paper plate, Parent Activity Option 2 to the other side of the plate, and then to the stick. I ll come around and help anyone who needs it. Once everyone has their Smiley Face Symbol road sign made: Looks like you re ready to add a smiley face to your sign! First, we will add these fun googly eyes. Next, you can draw a big smile and a nose. (Continue creating smiley faces together.) Now you have a smiley face sign to remind you that when you share your stuff, it makes people smile!

What You Do: During the Activity: Give each child an assembled flip book. Ask them to open to each page as you read the weekly focus phrase aloud. Pass out a set of images to each child. Help them use the glue sticks to adhere each image to its correct page. Then encourage the children to color their books and write their names on the back. Page 1 Bible Page 2 Heart Page 3 Praying hands Page 4 Smiley face What You Say: Before the Activity: We ve had SO much fun this month learning about the Bible. I thought it would be fun to make a book today to help us remember all the cool things we ve talked about! During the Activity: What tells you which way to go? [Bottom Line] The Bible tells me which way to go. That s what it says right here on the front. Every week, we ve talked about something we ve learned from the Bible. Open your books to the first page. Right here it says, The Bible shows me the way. Let s glue your Bible image to that page to help us remember that. (Pause as children glue the image on the page). Great! Now turn to the next page. It says, The Bible tells me to look for ways to help others. On this page, let s glue down our heart image. Remember, this week, we talked about how we show love to others when we help them. Okay, let s look at the next page. It says, The Bible tells me I can talk to God anytime. Isn t that amazing? Which image do you think would go with this page? (Pause.) Yes, the praying hands! Let s glue that image to the page. And on the last page, it says, The Bible tells me to share my stuff. Let s put our smiley face on the page to remind us that when we share, it makes everyone happy. We need to share what we have. Now you can use the crayons to color your books. Make sure you write your name on the back so you make it home with your book. After the Activity: Your books look amazing! I hope they will remind you of all we ve learned this month.
