Grand Knight Despite the recent warm temperatures, Fall is upon us. I love Fall. It brings football, salmon fishing trips, deer camp, and Catholic College Night. All are great events. All are great events that bring us together as friends, families and brothers. Thank you to all who helped with CCN. It was our best event to date. We had several hundred high school students and their parents explore options that potentially could help keep their faith alive while off to college. Great job everyone, and a special thanks goes out to Gary DeLamielleure for coordinating another successful event. Keep up the good work. Catholic College Night 2017 Catholic College Night (CCN) is now being viewed as an international college fair. From the 27 colleges that attended this year s event, we had universities from San Francisco California, New Orleans Louisiana, Ave Maria Florida, Fairfield Connecticut and Barry's Bay, Ontario Canada. As most of you know this year s fair was held at Madonna University in Livonia MI. With this move we were able to service all of southeast Michigan counties more effectively. This year approximately 260 students and parents were able to talk to representatives from 27 universities. In addition, Madonna University put on a very thorough financial seminar that provided parents information and scholarships and grants. FIGHTING FOR OUR FAITH THROUGH EDUCATION Catholic College Night http://www.catholiccollegenight.org/ Gary DeLamielleure 810 599 4507 Throughout the evening students and parents expressed their appreciation for having a professionally run event that met or exceed their expectations. With the quality of information available, some parents questioned the need for similar fairs at individual high schools. Along with the parents and students expressing their satisfaction, numerous college representatives stated their appreciation for being invited to this event. One college even made a comment why would not a college want to be here with this type of audience. With the quality of students that attended this event, each college s requested to be invited to next year s event. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of the Knights that help put together this 2017 Catholic College night. Without their help, this year s event could have very easily been viewed as just another college fair. Talking to parents students along with college representatives help promote a more cordial and caring event. I think that s what makes this night different than any other. Again thank you for all your help.
