Grand Knight Despite the recent warm temperatures, Fall is upon us. I love Fall. It brings football, salmon fishing trips, deer camp, and Catholic College Night. All are great events. All are great events that bring us together as friends, families and brothers. Thank you to all who helped with CCN. It was our best event to date. We had several hundred high school students and their parents explore options that potentially could help keep their faith alive while off to college. Great job everyone, and a special thanks goes out to Gary DeLamielleure for coordinating another successful event. Keep up the good work. SK Greg Kirchmeier GK September Knight of Month Shamil Halabu, for his work as an usher at St. Patrick Church for many years. Got Insurance? Need Insurance? Call Nicholas M. Lugo New Field Agent 810-623-7838 September Family of Month Ron and Julie Checks, for major contributions to the Parish Vacation Bible School this summer.

Council News & Events Be sure to visit and our Council's Facebook page at Knights of Columbus Council 7304 and tweet at our new twitter account @kofc7304. Don't forget the rosary before the Business meeting on October 4th in the chapel. We are desperately in need of volunteers at all Locations. (7-11, Busch's, Lucas, TCF Bank and Vic and Bob's) for the Fall MI Drive October 6-7-8. Call Dan Zimmerman at 810-623-0368 or Larry Bacon at 678-823-3074 if you can volunteer. Preparing for Respect Life Sunday September 30th as we have done the past two years, we will be putting 1,200 crosses around the parish grounds representing the vast number of lives lost to abortion each year. We will also place amidst the crosses the one large cross telling of Jesus divine mercy. We would welcome assistance in placing the crosses in the ground. We have all the tools we just need your labor and time! If you are interested in helping to set them up on Saturday morning September 30th, please contact Jay Gross at jaygross38@gmail.com or call (734) 395-8784. abortion. Stand with us to ask GOD for His divine intervention for the spiritual healing of our community and nation. Pray for all who witness our Life Chain, that their eyes and hearts will accept the truth. Joins us, be a link: Meet us in the church parking lot by Grand River where you will be offered a sign with a Pro Life message, with prayers and reflections on the back. Please stand 20 ft. apart on just the South side of Grand River so we can hopefully stretch all the way to Main Street. Save the date: Blood Drive Saturday November 18th from 9 AM to 4PM. Note: Need volunteer to coordinate this drive. Please contact Greg Kirchmeier at 810-588- 2049. K of C OPEN HOUSE a Knight of Appreciation - Thursday October 26 Our Open House will be a signature event as we will be honoring the council for their many recent awards and the men that made them happen. It is important that every man in our council be there to show his support of St Pat s Knights of Columbus. Representatives for the Church, Youth, Family, Council, Community and Membership committees will be there to explain their various fund raising efforts. You are encouraged to bring a Catholic friend with you. All wives are encouraged to attend. 30th ANNUAL LIFE CHAIN. We will join this event on Sunday October 1st from 2:00 to 3:00PM. Life chain is a prayer chain. We are witnessing our desire to end Father Mathias Thelen has graciously accepted our invitation to attend and will give us some input as he sees our relationship with him and the parish. We are inviting new parishioners as well as all member

Knights. There will be some light refreshments, a chance to see where you might give us a few hours of your precious time, renew old friendships, make new ones and an opportunity to test your putting skills. We will have several putters and balls on hand, but you can bring your own if you wish. We look forward to welcoming you all. New K of C Council 7304 Brochure Thanks to Don Sucher and David Paul Williams for their previous work on this project. With this information in hand, the Membership Team was able to massage and complete our new brochure. It is designed especially to help us bring men into our council and to show them what we do, how we do it and where the money goes after the work has been done. We will print a few to have them available for our Open House on October 26 th. Cover of new brochure. Catholic College Night 2017 Catholic College Night (CCN) is now being viewed as an international college fair. From the 27 colleges that attended this year s event, we had universities from San Francisco California, New Orleans Louisiana, Ave Maria Florida, Fairfield Connecticut and Barry's Bay, Ontario Canada. As most of you know this year s fair was held at Madonna University in Livonia MI. With this move we were able to service all of southeast Michigan counties more effectively. This year approximately 260 students and parents were able to talk to representatives from 27 universities. In addition, Madonna University put on a very thorough financial seminar that provided parents information and scholarships and grants. FIGHTING FOR OUR FAITH THROUGH EDUCATION Catholic College Night http://www.catholiccollegenight.org/ Gary DeLamielleure 810 599 4507 Throughout the evening students and parents expressed their appreciation for having a professionally run event that met or exceed their expectations. With the quality of information available, some parents questioned the need for similar fairs at individual high schools. Along with the parents and students expressing their satisfaction, numerous college representatives stated their appreciation for being invited to this event. One college even made a comment why would not a college want to be here with this type of audience. With the quality of students that attended this event, each college s requested to be invited to next year s event. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of the Knights that help put together this 2017 Catholic College night. Without their help, this year s event could have very easily been viewed as just another college fair. Talking to parents students along with college representatives help promote a more cordial and caring event. I think that s what makes this night different than any other. Again thank you for all your help.

Corporate Communion Mass Our Corporate Communion Mass is an opportunity for all the Knights of our Council and their families to sit and pray together in a show of unity and fraternity. Corporate communions are a powerful sign of fraternal solidarity. Below are photos of our council's Corporate communion on Saturday September 16th.
