It is an interesting transposition in which we place ourselves in the position of being the faithful ones. How faithful are we to the Lord's commands? How fervently are we being attentive to the religious dimensions of the upcoming celebration? We don't have to beat ourselves up over Christmas religiosity. But if nothing we do for Christmas reflects the spiritual aspects of the season maybe we should reflect on what we're celebrating, and why!
