We are made to get out, to love, and serve God. PEALING OF THE BELLS CONCERNS OF THE CHURCH Please sign and pass the Register of Friendship during this time. GATHERING SONGS Hymn 250 Hymn of Promise all stanzas Hymn 591 Halle, Halle, Hallelujah! refrain only Halle, halle, halle-lujah! Halle, halle, halle-lujah! Halle, halle, halle-lujah! Hallelujah! Hallelujah! *CALL TO WORSHIP Leader: We do not live by bread alone. People: But by the Word who became flesh and dwells among us. Leader: Christ is the true bread of heaven, the manna of freedom. People: Come, let us worship and give thanks. *PRAYER OF THE DAY Giver of life, every day you rain down manna from heaven so that we can eat the bread of angels. Turn our complaints into gratitude, that we, as a church, may mature into the body of the risen Christ given for the life of the world. Amen. *HYMN 260 Alleluia! Sing to Jesus Hyfrydol The Ten-Cents-A-Meal offering for hunger may be brought forward at this time. *PRAYER OF CONFESSION Silence Unison God, you have called us to live lives worthy of the calling to which we have been called. But we confess to you and each other that we have not always spoken the truth in love; we have not always made every effort to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. Forgive us and, by your grace, help us to grow in every way into him who is our head, Jesus Christ. *ASSURANCE OF FORGIVENESS Friends, believe the good news. In Jesus Christ, we are forgiven. Heidi Husted Armstrong, Transitional Pastor at First Presbyterian Church, Seattle. Psalm 78:25; Ephesians 4:13 Ephesians 4:1, 3, 15

SERMON Soul Food Mrs. Ayscue * AFFIRMATION OF FAITH The Apostles Creed I believe in God the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ his only Son our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; he descended into hell; the third day he rose again from the dead; he ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Ghost; the holy catholic Church; the communion of saints; the forgiveness of sins; the resurrection of the body; and the life everlasting. Amen. *HYMN 65 Guide Me, O Thou Great Jehovah Cwm Rhondda During the hymn, ushers will collect your written prayers to be included in the Prayers of People.
