WELCOME. We re glad to gather together as a community of faith today. No matter where you are on the journey of faith, you are welcome here, to join in worship and service. All are invited to a time of refreshment and conversation immediately following worship in St. Andrews Hall (down the steps outside the sanctuary, and to the left). If you are new to this community of faith, we rejoice in your presence with us. Remember, we re not strangers, but rather friends who journey together, following the Lord Jesus Christ. BACKPACK DRIVE FOR SECOND STORY - Our collection drive for backpacks of school supplies runs through August 5 th. There s a collection box in St. Andrews Hall. Second Story needs your help to provide backpacks of school supplies to youth and teens in our community. Let s help them be ready for a productive year of school. Each backpack must include all of the following supplies. Please help if you can. One medium-to-large backpack for boys or girls Lined notebook paper A spiral notebook or Composition book Pens and pencils A pencil pouch or holder Crayons, scissors, and glue sticks SUMMER MOVIE NIGHT - JULY 25, 6:30P.M, FELLOWSHIP HALL - Inspired by the story of P.T. Rated: PG UNITED AGAINST HATRED WORSHIP SERVICE AT BETHLEHEM LUTHERAN CHURCH, FAIRFAX In the last month, Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Fairfax has been vandalized multiple times, including a recent occurrence when racist words and symbols were scratched in the sanctuary, candle holders were shattered, and pews were sliced open with a knife. They will be holding an interfaith solidarity event at their church Wednesday, July 25, at 7:30 p.m., called United Against Hatred, which you are invited to attend. They are asking folks to bring blankets and quilts from their own communities and places of worship, to drape over the pews and cover the sliced fabric with the love of an interfaith community. For more information, you can visit the church s website at http://www.blclife.org/. FAIRFAX INTERFAITH COALITION FOR HABITAT - Couldn t go on the Summer Mission Project? Here s an opportunity to volunteer with Habitat in our own backyard. The next workday for the Fairfax Interfaith Coalition for Habitat (FICH) with Habitat for Humanity of Northern Virginia is Wednesday, July 25, 8:45 to 3:30. We will be rehabbing an existing townhouse in Herndon. Volunteers supply their own lunch and Habitat supplies water and tools.
