As the weather begins to heat up, we find ourselves in the middle of several improvement projects. Thanks to the generosity of some of our members, we have been able to begin some much-needed renovations. Most of you have seen the facelift we have given the Stanley Room. Comments have been very favorable and as donations continue to come in we will be contracting for new flooring in the hallways as well as a minor remodel of the ladies lounge. In the long term, I am beginning to look at the auditorium seating and carpets. Rentals have improved thanks to the hard work of our rental manager Kriss. With the exception of some availability in August, we expect to be very busy for the next several months. Our last stated meeting and dinner was enriched by our Youth Appreciation night as well as a Ring and Cap ceremony. We were privileged to be visited by several officers, members and adult leaders representing our Masonic Youth Organizations. Following dinner, we had an opportunity to hear about upcoming events from each organization. Following our stated meeting, we welcomed our newest member Bob Bussman into our lodge. Brother David Heft was, unfortunately unavailable and we plan to repeat the ceremony at our June meeting to welcome him on board. Finally, on a sad note, we have lost another brother and benefactor to the Stockton Scottish Rite. Brother Edwin McClenton 32 K.C.C.H. passed on May 10, 2014. Ed was one of my closest friends. His vision and dedication to the Stockton Scottish Rite will not be easily forgotten. We will all miss him.

Job s Daughters Bethel No. 83 On behalf of my Bethel, I would like to thank those who came to our Past Honored Queen, Majority Member, and Masonic Night. It is always nice to see guests at our Bethel Meetings. We are excited to announce that we will be Initiating a new member on May 27, 2014. It will also be my Farewell meeting as Honored Queen. Installation is Tuesday, June 10 at 7 P.M. Cassidy Ruiz is the Honored Queen Elect. I would like to personally thank each of you who have supported me as well as our Bethel during my term as Honored Queen weather it be through fundraisers, being on the sidelines or just giving encouraging words and lots of hugs. Your support is the best gift a Job s Daughter could ask for. Another BIG THANK YOU to Mr. O Hern, Mr. Owen, and Mr. Armstrong for hosting the Youth Appreciation Night. It is always a great feeling when we as youth are the Stars for an evening. Dinner was an extra added bonus and a big thank you to Mr. and Mrs. Hasenbuhler for preparing our dinner that evening. Our Bethel is also busy preparing for Grand Bethel in June. We are so excited to have Elisabeth Marcellino (Ken Evans granddaughter) competing in Sew and Show, Cassidy Ruiz, McKenzi Peterson and Jazmin Flores in Music and Arts and Crafts, and Me, Klaire, in Miss California Job s Daughter and many other competitions including Ritual. Say lots of prayers that our Bethel brings home the gold. Jobie Love, Klaire Green, Honored Queen Bethel No 83 Stockton, Supreme Bethel 5th Messenger and Past Honored Queen Bethel No. 276, Lodi Rainbow News Greetings to all of our Masonic family. The summer months will be busy for Stockton Assembly not only with meetings but fun events and projects. May 25th the Assembly will be traveling to Petaluma to attend the first Official Visit of the Rainbow year. It is at this event we find out what our State Service Project is. As this is being written before the event, we don t yet know what the charity is. We will share this information with you as soon as we know because we count on YOU and your charitable character to help us in our project! We would like to invite each of you to our Installation of Officers on Monday June 2nd. We are installing Maritza Paniagua, the sister of Morning Star s Senior Steward Eliseo Paniagua, as our Worthy Advisor. June 15th the Assembly is celebrating Father s Day and we wish all of you dads out there the best of days. We are in the planning stages of our own Official Visit which will be on the 18th of August here in our own Temple. Our District includes Stockton #9, Cloud 7 Assembly in Woodbridge, Manteca Assembly and Knights Ferry Assembly. Please put the date on your calendars. We hope you can attend. In Rainbow Love, Stockton Assembly #9

From the Secretary / Treasurer In Memorial Lots of exciting things have happened in the last few months within the Valley of Stockton. We held degrees on March 21, 22 & 29 th and two new members joined our ranks. Welcome to Robert Bussman & David Heft our newest 32 nd degree Scottish Rite Masons. At the May stated meeting we held Youth Appreciation night and a Ring & Cap ceremony for Brother Bussman. At dinner we recognized the leaders of: Lodi DeMolay, Stockton DeMolay, Manteca Assembly No. 38, Stockton Assembly No. 9 and Bethel No. 83 of Job s Daughters. Each leader was asked to introduce those in attendance from their order and to tell the members present of the upcoming activities. The Stated meeting was held in short form and then the public was invited in to witness our Ring & Cap ceremony for Brother Bussman. A flower was presented to his lady, his mother, Dorothy Bussman. We also have nearly finished the Stanley Room. It has new paint, clean drapes, a new floor and baseboards. It has become a first class room for holding events and was initiated by holding our Stated Meeting for the month of May. We still need to raise money to put in a sound system and new light fixtures, but that can wait for a while. Our next project will be the ladies lounge/restroom, the hallways from the lobby to the lounge and the hallway from the lobby to the Stanley Room. We still need financial help so any support you can give is gratefully received. Our most exciting news is that Rich Garcia has accepted the position of Assistant to the PR. As you may know Brother Craig Santos has had to step away for a while and so his positions have become open. As well as Brother Garcia, Kent Armstrong has been appointed as Treasurer. So now we have Rich Garcia, Almoner/Assistant to the PR and Kent Armstrong General Secretary/Treasurer. Unfortunately, we were not selected to have a fireworks booth this year. Thank you to Brother Nunes and Brother Castillo for volunteering to chair the event. The American Speech- Language-Hearing Association and the California Speech-Language- Hearing Association plan events and activities to raise awareness about communication disorders and promote treatment and services. One such event was Better Speech and Hearing Night at the Ball Park, organized by Benjamin Reece, a University of the Pacific Graduate and former Scottish Rite Language Center Clinician. Thanks to several generous sponsors, including University of the Pacific, clients from the Stockton Scottish Rite Language Center and their families were invited to attend the Stockton Ports game on Friday May 2nd free of charge.
