A REFLEC'rION...J "No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon (material wealth)." Matthew 6:24 For many people, God and money run "neck and neck" a their first priority. Making money' and spending money becomes the center of their life ana they actually become a slave to money. The solution-become more generous. Giving money to Church and charity frees us from slavery to money and from making money a "god" before God. RAPPAHANNOCK NEEDS FIRE & RESCUE VOLUNTEERS! Rappahannock County has all-volunteer fire and rescue - no paid crews. We urgently need more volunteers to serve our community. - Experience not required! We will train; all training paid for. - We need drivers, Emergency Medical Technicians, fire personnel, and support volunteers of all kinds. You can help with whatever time you can give. - Volunteers can be age 14 or 16 on up, and active retirees or others with flexible schedules are especially helpful. - We are proud of our quality of service, and companies work together, but it is difficult to get enough volunteers, especially weekdays and nights. - Without more volunteers soon, the County may have to go to paid staff, which would raise taxes. - Rappahannock residents never pay for ambulance care and transport! IF there's insurance, it's charged, but nothing from pocket. Call 911 if you need us! - EMS volunteering is a wonderful way to serve your community. It gives lifelong skills, which can help family and friends, and often leads to careers. join the team! - Please contact your local fire and/or rescue squad* or member to get more information. *Washington - 675-3615; Sperryville Rescue - 987-8085; Sperryville Fire - 987-8124; Amissville - 937-5125; Flint Hill- 675-3286; Castleton - 937-4110; Chester Gap - 635-5482.
