February ended with some powerful worshipful moments at church. The service on February 25 was so very lovely. The choir s anthem, The Gift of Love set the tone for a day full of God s love. The congregation sang as one big choir during the service giving us a glimpse into worship in heaven. The That s Amore concert in the afternoon was the perfect blend of love and light. While the music was not the customary Sunday church music, the love of the Lord was certainly present with the congregation and choir. Many thanks to everyone who worked to make the day so very special. Each person who sang or danced spent many hours working on their music. The instrumental musicians were amazing. Special thanks to Melanie for jumping in with only a day s notice to play music Janice (who was stricken with the flu the day before the concert) had been preparing for weeks. Dave Turko worked magic in the sound booth. He took our wild array of sound needs and made them work beautifully. Now that is skill! The food was awesome!!! Please look for more concerts on the horizon. The church is preparing for Easter through Lenten worship activities. The prayer services provide some of the most meaningful worship experiences. Please plan to attend as many of these as possible. Your hearts will be so very touched. Your life will be transformed. The choir is working on music for Easter. The cantata offers a meaningful and thoughtful approach to the hope we have through our faith in the risen Lord! As part of our outreach to the community of believers on the local level, we will share our Good Friday service with Nolensville United Methodist Church. Your choir will be joining with the choir at Nolensville UMC to deliver a powerful and lovely message regarding Jesus Final Hours. We continue to give thanks to God for His many blessings. Julie For the month of February we worked to make 13 Critical M.A.S.S. care packages (College Munchies Aiming for Students Stomachs) to send to our college students. We shipped packages as far away as California! The packages contained just typical snack items (oatmeal crème pies, valentines candy, cookies, etc) as well as hot chocolate packets, cough drops and a gift card. Hopefully this will remind our college students that we are keeping them in our thoughts and prayers. We also assembled Valentine bags for 48 of the Burrito Ministry. These bags included graham crackers, cups of peanut butter, fruit cups and valentines candy. Fish Fry and Silent Auction is on Saturday, March 17 from 4:00 7:00. Flyer is included in this month s newsletter. Signup sheets to volunteer to work this fundraiser are being circulated during worship service on Sundays. If you have somehow missed the signup sheet and want to work this event, a copy will be kept on the table outside of the church office. This fundraiser is a church event and everyone that can help work it will be greatly appreciated. Your help is needed on posting this to social media or mentioning to your friends and neighbors any way that you can get the word out! Feel free to take a flyer and post it at work!! If you have questions, feel free to contact Jackie Fuqua at jfuqua@uspi.com or cell at 615-319-9404.
