Prayer Line: Jo Kusz 651-771-7438 From the Director of Administration and Finance Beatitudes God s blessings bring relief. Today s Gospel reading is so familiar Jesus describes the blessings (beatitudes) that come to those who are downtrodden. It interested me to see a dictionary description of the word beatitudes: bringing pleasure or relief as a welcome contrast to what one has previously experienced. These past two years at Presentation have seen more than our share of difficult financial performance. In the Annual Report to Parishioners inserted in today s bulletin, we see a second year of significant operating deficit. Yet among the many difficult feelings experienced over the past several years and troubling financial data which looks backward, there is a new season, a new reason, for hope in looking forward. In contrast to what has previously been experienced, we look forward (as John wrote in today s second reading) to see what love the Father has bestowed on us (Jn 3:1). There is relief in the blessings, the beatitudes, available to this community of faith. I will speak to these issues at all Masses next weekend and elaborate on the past financial performance. Also, I will convey the many new initiatives and growing spirit so evident today at Presentation. My prayer is that this year will continue to bring pleasure and relief to this wonderful community who have so faithfully called Presentation home. Aside from assisting in directing the LifeTeen music program in Michigan for 11 years, she has extensive experience in liturgical music and is accomplished in several instruments. Jessica is eager to apply her music knowledge and teaching together in this position! Earlier this fall, Presentation of Mary Parish welcomed Jessica to its staff as Director of Confirmation and Youth Ministry. We feel very blessed, and hope she will continue to be a valuable part of our community as substitute teacher in the future. The Golden Paddle: This raffle is ONLY available at the event!
