We welcome, serve, and educate.

Dear Parishioners, Jesus is the good shepherd and we are his flock. Two characteristics mark Christ s relationship to us. Jesus cares about his sheep. He is even willing to die for his sheep. The Easter season is a reminder to us of his love for us to the point of being willing to die for us. The good shepherd knows his sheep. There is an intimate connection between the shepherd and the sheep. Christ our shepherd invites us to have an intimate relationship with him. We grow in that intimate relationship with the shepherd through our reception of his body and blood in the Eucharistic celebration, through reading and reflection of the word of God, through prayer and living his teachings in our lives. Yours Sincerely, Fr. Jose Shaji, Pastor BRINGING HOLY COMMUNION TO HOMEBOUND PARISHIONERS: If you know of a parishioner who is unable to attend Mass but would like to receive Holy Communion, please contact the Rectory so that arrangements can be made for a Eucharistic Minister to bring the parishioner Holy Communion. Homebound includes anyone who is unable to attend Mass on an ongoing basis or anyone who is temporarily unable to go to Mass due to, for instance, a surgery, illness or injury. SILENCE Silence is a gift of God, to let us speak more intimately with God. --St. Vincent Pallotti St. Anselm Church Stewardship Registered Parishioner Families 2018-1675 1st Collection: $3,433 2nd Collection: Building Maintenance- $1,001 Electronic Weekly Donations-$2,625.00 Please visit our church website to sign-up for Electronic Donations *Please log onto Parish Pay and update your CC expiration date! World Day of Prayer for Vocations will be observed on this Sunday, also known as "Good Shepherd Sunday." The purpose of this day is to publically fulfill the Lord's instruction to, "Pray the Lord of the harvest to send laborers into his harvest" (Mt 9:38; Lk 10:2). Please pray that young men and women hear and respond generously to the Lord's call to the priesthood, diaconate, religious life, societies of apostolic life or secular institutes. Prayer for Vocations-God, our Father, In Your love and providence, You call each of us to a more holy and abundant life. We pray for our young people in the Archdiocese of San Francisco. Open their hearts and minds to know the vocation You have planned for them for all eternity. If they are being invited to follow You as a priest, Brother, or Sister, give them a generous heart to respond to Your challenging call and the strength to follow wherever You lead them. May families desire to please You by encouraging and supporting vocations within their homes. We ask this through Jesus Christ, our Good Shepherd. Amen Fifth Sunday Next Week In the first quarter of 2018, January March, St Anselm s St Vincent de Paul Conference provided $4,266. in monetary assistance to 7 men, 14 women and 15 children, which included 7 families. The conference receives the majority of its funding in 5th Sunday second collections. In 2018 there are four months with five Sundays, the first of which will be the 5th Sunday in April, next week. Thank you for your past and on-going support of the conference. The generosity of parishioners in supporting persons who have called for assistance is much appreciated. You contribute to home visits as much as the conference team making the visits. God Bless you! CONFIRMATION -Our Confirmands have been preparing for their Confirmation by attending their group sessions, Confirmation Retreat, volunteering within our parish, and attending Mass together. At the Sunday, April 22 nd 5pm Mass, they will make their Confirmation commitment in front of the congregation. May our youth continue to feel the love and support from our parishioners as they continue on their faith formation. Keep them in your prayers as their Sacrament of Confirmation draws near. Confirmation is Saturday, April 28th at 2:00pm. Bishop Daniel Walsh will preside. Prayer for Confirmands Heavenly Father, We raise our confirmands to you, Blessed Lord, for your care. We rejoice in their faith journey and ask you to be their guide, guardian, and help. Let them feel the love of their church family as they begin a new chapter in their lives. Reveal to them your plan your good, perfect, and pleasing will for their lives. Surround them with your Holy Spirit, instilling in each the confidence only you can provide. Gracious God, help us to live as your role models for our youth. Give us the wisdom, strength, and courage to walk uprightly, to do your will, to reflect the love of Jesus in all circumstances. Help us make good choices. Let us continue to grow in faith, to commit to the study of your word, and to share the good news of the Gospel with these young men and women. You have richly blessed our church family and we are grateful for all you have done. We give you honor, glory, and praise. Let our worship be pleasing and our works be fruitful so we can expand your kingdom here on earth. In Jesus name we pray, Amen.
