2018 Diocesan Lenten Appeal Just Short of Parish Goal The parish is sincerely grateful to all who have responded to the Diocesan Lenten Appeal. To date, the total of pledges and gifts is $72,808.40 with 27% of our parish responding. We exceeded our diocesan target, but need $2,191.60 to reach our parish goal of $75,000. Final follow up letters have been mailed. If you have not made your gift, please prayerfully discern your ability to give and return your pledge card at mass next weekend or return it to the Parish Office. If you cannot locate your pledge card, there are 2018 Diocesan Lenten Appeal Pledge Envelopes on the table in the Narthex. In addition, you can make your pledge online at DLA.dioceseofgreensburg.org. Congratulations to our Second Graders who made their First Holy Communion on May 6th! We are so happy for them and hope and pray that they will receive Our Lord in the Eucharist often and grow ever closer to him. Our students receiving First Communion are: Emily Beech, Carly Deist, Emalyn DiRinaldo, Bridget Grace, Avery Horner, Lilly Iwinski, Jarett Krupper, Jessica Mack, Hailey McKenzie, Genevieve O Gara, Conner Saxton and Mackenna Simons. Please keep our Religious Education students and their families in your prayers as we begin our summer vacation. Remember that Vacation Bible School will be held the week of July 23-27 from 6:00 8:00 PM. Watch for registration information in the bulletin. Students who are 4 years old through those entering 5 th grade are welcome to attend VBS. Older students may help as student aids in the program. Contact Mrs. Serafin at 724-238-6341 for more information. Alert Concerning Unauthorized Calls The Diocese of Greensburg has learned of a Caller ID Spoofing scam in at least one of our parishes. People have reported to the parish that they have received a call that shows on their Caller ID as being from the parish. In this particular spoofing, the caller claims to be selling something on behalf of the parish. A parish does not give its telephone resources and parishioners phone numbers to an outside sales organization. If you suspect you are the recipient of a spoofing call, inform the parish then contact your telephone service provider for information on how to prevent the scam. Most important, never give personal information over the phone to someone you don t know especially your Social Security number, bank account number or credit card number. Spoofing is one method used to get that personal information for fraudulent use.
