Our Sister Parish Covenant reviewed (continued from last week's bulletin)- Commitments of our covenant relationship initiated in 2015 and are up for renewal this year after our first 3 years together (MY, how time flies!) How have we done? 1.) Spiritual Growth- we have continued to pray for one another through the prayers of the faithful during our Sunday masses. We can pursue ways to assist each other in other ways to enhance the spiritual growth of our parishes. 2.) Cultural Learning- we have shared information about the demographics, culture, history and faith of our people. Our struggles and our success stories. We shall continue to find ways to listen to one another's experiences. We struggle to find ways to connect the children of our parishes to build a bond of friendship and mutual love. Continued next week- the final 3 goals of our commitments- 3.) Sharing our experiences as parish communities, 4.) Opportunies for visits/exchanges, and 5.)Sharing resources/projects. PAGE 3

INTRODUCING OUR NEW CHOIR DIRECTOR My name is Victoria Solenberger, and I m so excited to be the new music director here at St. Brendan! Fr. Wichert asked if I could share a bit about myself. I have one connection to St. Brendan - my best friend is the daughter of Anne Packard who used to direct one of the choirs here many years ago. She also received a music degree from the UW, and as I was starting out she gave me some great perspective and support in my musical endeavors. It s a neat full-circle experience to begin working in the place where she worked as well. I grew up in northern California, and came to Washington state to go to college at Gonzaga University. After graduating with a bachelor s in music performance and meeting my now-husband Erik, I taught elementary school music for two years in Spokane. I had very little background in teaching and was flung into the middle of it, and once I got up and brushed myself off I completely loved the job! Erik, who was an army officer at the time, was then stationed down at Fort Lewis, and so I moved out west to Tacoma after we got engaged. After we got married, I earned my masters degree in choral conducting from the UW, while working as the music director at Visitation and Holy Rosary Catholic churches. It was wonderful to work with those parishes. Since my graduation, we ve had two sons - Thomas and David - who are two years and two months old, respectively. Erik says we re biased, but they are light to our life! I like hiking, reading and researching random things, meeting new people, and having great conversations. Hopefully many of those will be with you! Looking forward to meeting you as I serve you here. SPIRITUAL ADOPTION PROGRAM Our spiritually adopted babies are now five months old and the wonderful miracles of God s creation and life are so evident. At five months, the babies hair and eyebrows begin to grow. Their ears are fully formed and the babies begin to respond to sound. They are able to hear their mothers heartbeat and voice. Many moms begin to sing to their babies at this stage. Babies born at this age have survived. Thank you for your continued commitment to pray for these and all unborn babies in danger of being aborted, who need to be protected by our laws.

This means taking steps to give 5% to one s parish, and 5% to other charities or causes you have personal passion for.
