f tewardship Committed to Christ, Queen of All Saints Basilica sharing God's gifts, building the Church together Support your Catholic School Most parents want their children to be able to learn in a safe, secure environment. They want them surrounded by people - teachers, staff, and other parents - who will have a positive influence and teach lessons about life, faith, belief, and moral values, not just academic subjects. A Catholic school does that. Besides teaching things like reading, writing, science, and math, the schools spend time educating the whole child, in mind, heart, and spirit. Catholic schools are caring communities where children get one-on-one attention, and a strong sense of right and wrong. Catholic school isn t free. Many parents do understand that a child s education is worth paying for, especially considering what families get in return - a sense of faith, an ability to focus, and an expectation of achievement - all important aspects of success in school and life. At Queen of All Saints, a sizeable parish subsidy assists in the costs of our school. Also, our parishioners are able to donate extra funds through the monthly QAS School Donation envelopes. Catholic tradition and culture believes that parents/guardians are a vital part of the equation when it comes to school success. School families value the educational mission and appreciate the partnership between home and school. As a Catholic school parent, find a meaningful way to be involved, share your talents and engage in the journey and joy of your child s education. Look at the school volunteer opportunities to see where you fit in and make the investment of your time, treasure and talent. Do you know About 4,500 students have graduated from Queen of All Saints since its first class in 1941. And that many QAS class reunions return here for Mass and/or a tour of the school? There are graduation pictures mounted in the school for almost all QAS classes, from 1941 on! The QAS School Council has an alumni FaceBook Group and an alumni database. If you are a QAS alumni and haven t added your name to their database, go to qasparish.org/alumni and fill out the form. If you are a registered parishioner, please come into the rectory during business hours to schedule your child's baptism. If it is not possible for you to come into the rectory, please call the rectory to make arrangements. If you are not a registered parishioner, please contact the parish in which you live in order to schedule your child's baptism. It is important that a child is baptized in the parish in which his/her family lives. Only in three special cases (grandparents are registered parishioners, previous children were baptized at Queen of All Saints, or parents were married at Queen of All Saints) will we consider scheduling the baptism here. The Sacrament of Baptism for infants is celebrated two or three Sundays of the month, depending on the time of year, at 1:30 PM - call the rectory for the exact schedule. A Baptismal Preparation class for the parents is required. They are held on select Mondays at 7:30 PM in the Rectory and must also be scheduled in advance. If an adult or a school age child seeks baptism, special arrangements should be made with one of the priests. The Sacrament of Matrimony Queen of All Saints helps couples prepare not only for their wedding day, but the lifelong commitment of living a Christian marriage. Parishioners of Queen of All Saints Basilica who are baptized and free to marry in the Catholic Church may celebrate their marriage in Queen of All Saints Basilica. Couples from Queen of All Saints seeking marriage in Queen of All Saints Basilica should contact one of the parish priests at least six months prior to their intended date of marriage. The couple must meet with one of the priests before the date for the marriage can be confirmed. Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick If a member of your family would like to receive the sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick, please contact the Rectory.
