Afterward, Jimmy Dee thanked outgoing GK Henry for his dedication and service to the Knights of Columbus and All Saints Parish Council #15706. Outgoing GK Henry reflected on his tenure, calling it a humbling experience to have been given a vote of confidence and support by the council. Outgoing GK Henry passed the gavel to Incoming GK Tim Truster, after which Incoming GK Tim presided over the final minutes of the council meeting, including prayer requests for the good of the order, leading the council in the Hail Mary, and bringing the meeting to a close. - Silver Rose GK Henry outlined the schedule for All Saints part in the Silver Rose, encouraging participation and mentioning the benefits for All Saints Parish and the council. He expects between 200 and 250 parishioners to attend on August 8. - Dragon Boat Festival Deacon Scott Meantz is looking for volunteers to help with the upcoming Dragon Boat Festival on Saturday, June 23, 2018. There is need for help from 5:45 am till 10:00 am, and volunteers will receive a t-shirt and access to watch the event. Tim truster, Paul Rodarte, and Scott Houghton agreed to volunteer. Scott Houghton brought up the possibility of the council entering a boat into the race, and it was decided that, since it was too late to register for this year s event, it would be worth considering for next year. - Request from the State Deputy A new chapter (#17010) has been established in Mt. Juliet, TN All councils are asked to consider a donation to the new council to help it get started. Motion was made by Scott H. To make a donation to the new council. The suggested amount was $150.00. Paul R. seconded the motion for a $150.00 gift. Michael K. asked if there was a precedence for councils donating and the response was that the district would be giving $100.00, but any amount by the council s was based on their independent consideration. All voted in favor of the motion. First Degree Report David Clark and Brian Bolling were named 1st degree knights after a ceremony on May 19, 2018. The general opinion of the council was that it is a worthy cause, with Tony Venafro suggesting that there are issues of liability that would need to be addressed. Michael offered to research the needs and requirements to make this happen with the council s approval. No official action was required at this time. Fr. Michael - Ray Muratore reported that Fr. Michael will be presiding over each Mass during his final week as Pastor of All Saints, culminating with an outdoor reception after the 11:45 Mass. Activity Surveys - Hank Davis reminded the council of the importance of tracking volunteer hours in service to the Knights of Columbus and remitting those hours to him. While it is not helpful to inundate him with hours every time they have been accrued, knights need to keep up with them faithfully, so that an accurate accounting can be presented annually. - Jimmy Dee spoke of the importance of logging hours in regards to the Knights of Columbus maintaining their not-for-profit status.
