SENDING OF THE 12 1.Presenting the 12 Apostles [Sent Out Disciples] (10:1-4) 2.Preaching an Unwelcomed Kingdom (10:5-22) Preaching to Israel First (vv.5-6) Preaching a Spiritual Kingdom (v.7-8a) Living an Unearthly Life (vv.8b-10) Giving the Blessing of Shalom (v.11-12) Acceptation or Rejection of the Shalom (v.13) Condemnation for Rejecting the Shalom (vv.14-15) Expectation of Persecution (vv.16-18) God s Timely Spiritual Supply (vv. 19-20) Perseverance and Hope (vv.21-22) 3. Projecting to the Tribulation Period (10:23-33)

A SHORT PERIOD 23 And Jesus said to his disciples: When they pursue you in this city, flee to another; truly I say to you, you will not have completed for yourselves the cities of Israel before the Son of Man comes. (Hebrew Matthew 10:23) 23 "But whenever they persecute you in one city, flee to the next; for truly I say to you, you will not finish going through the cities of Israel until the Son of Man comes. (Matt. 10:23 NAU)

TRIBULATION PERIOD When Jesus Was on the Earth, He Did Not Know When His 2nd Coming Would Be; Only the Father Knows. Jesus Gave a Potential Short Time Table to His Disciples: If the Israelites/Jews Would Humble Themselves, and Accept the Spiritual Kingdom, It Would Be a Davidic Dynasty Ruling over All Nations by Power, Which Is the Expected OT Model of Fulfilling Divine Promises (Isa 14:1). If the Jews Rejected the Spiritual Kingdom, as Expected, Jesus Would Be Killed, Resurrected, Ascended, Seated on the Right Hand of the Father. (He Would Leave.) But It Is Possible to Enter Immediately into the 7-Year Tribulation Period (the 70th Week of Daniel); then Jesus Would Come Back.

TREATED AS THE TEACHER 24 No disciple is greater than his teacher, nor is his servant greater than his master. 25 It is sufficient for the disciples to be like his teacher, and the servant to be like his master. If they call the master of the house Baalzebub (Heb: זנוב Baalהאל Zebub), so much the more the sons of his house. (Hebrew Matthew 10:24-25) 24 "A disciple is not above his teacher, nor a slave above his master. 25 "It is enough for the disciple that he become like his teacher, and the slave like his master. If they have called the head of the house Beelzebul (Grk: ΒεελζεβούλBeelzeboul), how much more will they malign the members of his household! (Matt. 10:24-25 NAU)

BEELZEBUB OT: Hebrew זבוב Baalבאל Zebub = Lord of the Flies. It Is a Mocking Takeoff from זהול Baalהאל Zebul = Prince Baal, a Pagan Name for the Chief god in their Pantheon (2 Kgs 1:2-3,16) OT Scribes Do Not Write Down Directly the Names of Pagan gods, so that Not to Be Defiled. NT: Majority MSS (Manuscripts) Show Βεελζεβούλ Beelzeboul It Is a Direct Transliteration of Prince Baal (or Lord of the House ) Rather than Playing with Words in Another Language, NT Scribes Chose to Be Straight Forward. English Bible Chose to Show Contempt to the Devil, and Adopted Minority MSS, Spelling Beelzebub.

PUBLICIZE THE HIDDEN 26 Do not fear them, because there is nothing which will not be seen, nor hidden (which will not be made known). 27 (That which) I say to you in darkness, say it in the light; (that which you hear by the ear, tell it in the gate). (Hebrew Matthew 10:26-27) 26 "Therefore do not fear them, for there is nothing concealedthat will not be revealed, or hidden that will not be known. 27 "What I tell you in the darkness, speak in the light; and what you hear whispered in your ear, proclaim upon the housetops(grk: δῶµα doma). (Matt. 10:26-27 NAU)

WHAT WAS HIDDEN? Op 1: Jesus Taught the Disciples Many Things in Private. Many of These Things the Disciple Did Not Understand until after They Received the Holy Spirit at the Pentecost. They Memorized and Preached the Sermon on the Mount. They Obeyed in Limited Understanding. Jesus Taught Publicly in Parables, which He Explained to the Disciples. [But This Happened from Matt 13] The Disciples Would Have a More Public Ministry than Jesus. [But This Does Not Relate Closely to Not Fearing the Persecutors] Op 2: The Persecutors Have Hidden Sins and Secrets (Babylonian Kabbalah, Canaanite Depravity etc.) which They Fear Being Revealed.

FEAR GOD, NOT MEN 28 Do not fear those who kill (Heb: ( haragהרג (bodies) who have no power to kill souls, but fear the one who has power to destroy (Heb: Abad)theאבד soul and the body in Gehenna(Heb: גהינם Gehenom= Hinnom Valley).(Hebrew Matthew 10:28) 28 "Do not fear those who kill (Grk: ἀποκτείνω apokteino) the body but are unable to kill the soul; but rather fear Him who is able to destroy (Grk: ἀπόλλυµι apollumi) both soul and body in hell(grk: Gehenna). (Matt. 10:28-29 NAU) Destroy Is Possibly, Not Necessarily, Annihilation (Make Nonexistent); though It Could Be Making Chaotic/Bad.

KNOW YOUR VALUE = KNOW YOUR GOD 29 Are not two sparrow sold for a small coin and not one of them will fall to the earth except by the will of your fatherwho is in heaven? 30 Are not all the hairs of your head numbered? 31 Do not fear. Because you are better than the sparrows. (Hebrew Matthew 10:29-31) 29 "Are not two sparrows sold for a cent (Grk: ἀσσάριον assarion= 1/10 of a Drachma)? And yet not one of them will fall to the ground apart from your Father. 30 "But the very hairs of your head are all numbered. 31 "So do not fear; you are more valuable than many sparrows. (Matt. 10:29-31 NAU)

PUBLIC STANDING 32 He who praises(heb: ( shabachשבח me before man I will praise before my Father who is in heaven. 33 But he who denies me before the sons of man I will deny before my Father who Is in Heaven.[Not in the Main MS or Any Other MSS except 1]. (Hebrew Matthew 10:32) 32 "Therefore everyone who confesses (Grk: ὁµολογέω homologeolit: speak the same, agree with) Me before men, I will also confess him before My Father who is in heaven. 33 "But whoever denies Me before men, I will also deny him before My Father who is in heaven. (Matt. 10:32-33 NAU)

SENDING OF THE 12 1.Presenting the 12 Apostles (10:1-4) 2.Preaching an Unwelcomed Kingdom (10:5-22) 3.Projecting to the Tribulation Period (10:23-33) Expect a Short Period of Tribulation (10:23) Expect Being Treated the Way as Jesus Was (10:24-25) Do Not Fear, and Make the Hidden Public (10:26-27) The Spirit/Soul Is More Important than the Body (10:28) You Are Valuable to God (10:29-31) Choose Public Standing with or against Christ (10:32) 4.Pathway to Peace with God (10:34-42)

CHRIST DIVIDES 34 In that hour Jesus said to his disciples: Do not think I have come to put (peace) on the earth, but a sward. 35 I have come to separate mankind(heb:,( ha-adamהאדם the son from his father and the daughter from his mother. 36 The enemy is to be loved ones. (Hebrew Matthew 10:34-36) 34 "Do not think that I came to bring peace on the earth; I did not come to bring peace, but a sword. 35 "For I came to SET A MAN AGAINST HIS FATHER, AND A DAUGHTER AGAINST HER MOTHER, AND A DAUGHTER- IN-LAW AGAINST HER MOTHER-IN-LAW; 36 and A MAN'S ENEMIES WILL BE THE MEMBERS OF HIS HOUSEHOLD. (Micah 7:6) (Matt. 10:34-36 NAU)

CHRIST IS ALL OR NOTHING 37 He who loves his father and his mother more than me, I am not suitable for him.[] 39 He who loves his own life will lose it, he who loses (it) for my sake will find it. (Hebrew Matthew 10:37-38) 37 "He who loves father or mother more than Me is not worthy (Grk: ἄξιοςaxios)of Me; and he who loves son or daughter more than Me is not worthy of Me. 38 "And he who does not take his cross and follow after Me is not worthy of Me. 39 "He who has found his life will lose it, and he who has lost his life for My sake will find it. (Matt. 10:37-39 NAU)

RECEIVE THE AMBASSADOR 40 He who receives you, receives me; and he who receives me, receives the one who sent me. 41 He who receives a prophet in the name of a prophet, will receive the reward of the prophet; he who receives a righteous one in the name of a righteous one, will receive the reward of the righteous one. (Hebrew Matthew 10:40-41) 40 "He who receives you receives Me, and he who receives Me receives Him who sent Me. 41 "He who receives a prophet in the name of a prophet shall receive a prophet's reward; and he who receives a righteous man in the name of a righteous man shall receive a righteous man's reward. (Matt. 10:40-41 NAU)

THE LITTLE ONES 42 He who gives a vessel of cold water to one of my little disciples(heb: הקטנים talmidiתלמידי ha-qatanim) in the name of my disciple, truly I say to you that he will not lose his reward. (Hebrew Matthew 10:42) 42 "And whoever in the name of a disciple gives to one of these little ones (Grk: µικρόςmikros) even a cup of cold water to drink, truly I say to you, he shall not lose his reward." (Matt. 10:42 NAU) Paul Called Himself the Littlest of Apostles, for He Was the Latest Called. Jesus Called the Evangelists in the Tribulation the Little Ones because They Are the Late Comers.

Q: Are We the Ambassadors for Christ?
