2 Tiferes students enjoyed a ROSH CHODESH NISSAN program this week that focused on the righteous women בזכות of Yiddishkeit. The theme of נשים צדקניות נגאלו אבותינו ממצרים was discussed and then groups researched various Rebbetzins of Gedolei Yisroel: Rebbetzin Batsheva Kanievsky, Rebbetzin Vichna Kaplan, Rebbetzin Shoshana Mendlowitz, Rebbetzin Moskowitz, Rebbetzin Sarah Pam, Rebbetzin Sara Schenirer, Rebbetzin Chaya Mushka Schneerson, Rebbetzin Ruchoma Shain, and Rebbetzin Basha Sheinberg. The girls then presented their findings to the school and enjoyed a delicious lunch.
3 Tiferes Bais Yaakov joined students from Bias Yaakov and Bnos Bais Yaakov for THE YAHRTZEIT OF R SARAHS SCHENIRER, A H this month. The event took place at Bais Yaakov High School and included speaker, Mrs. Chavi Bauman, and a choir presentation from our very own Tiferes students. Students heard from representatives of BAYCREST at a special assembly this month. The women spoke about how to become a volunteer at Baycrest. Students in grade 10 took the ONTARIO CHOOL LITERACY TEST this month. SECONDARY SCHOOL Successful completion of the OSSLT is one of 32 requirements for graduating with the Ontario Secondary School Diploma..
4 CHESED HEADS, Talia Klein & Chavi Wagowsky, continue to network with city organizations to find chesed opportunities for our students and to provide help wherever it is needed in our community. SHINING STARS CO-ORDINATORS, Nechama Kaiser and Dafna Somogyi, continue to work with Chai Lifeline in the Shining Stars Respite Program for siblings of children with special needs. Our students also work with AIM to provide an after school program for children with special needs every Wednesday. Headed by Miriam Hytman and Avigayil Skosowski, this year s MISHEMERES program continues to be a daily reminder of the importance of שמירת הלשון.
