Grammatical note = Predicate accusative. A predicate accusative is like a predicate nominative, the difference is that a predicate accusative asserts something about another accusative rather than about the subject of the clause. Thus a predicate accusative follows another accusative, and there is an implied copulative verb between the two accusatives, equating them. A predicate accusative lacks the article and is often an adjective or a participle. The main verb of the clause is often a verb of perception, knowledge, or naming. See Williams 57b. Grammatical note = Viewpoint לפני (in the sight of, before). The preposition can indicate that something is being describes from the perspective of the לפני object of the preposition. This is also called the mental, perceptual, or referential use of.לפני See Williams 372. (7:2) 96b. beast, animal, cattle under BDB = בּ ה מ ה pure. be clean, = טהר clean, pure under BDB 373a. 4 An example of what is called a heteroclitic paradigm. In.א שּׁ ה plural construct נשׁי which the masculine, masculine plural, feminine, feminine plural forms of man, woman all come from different roots. 6 אתם Grammatical note = Three through ten. The numbers three through ten are nouns with masculine and feminine forms. They are spelled in such a way that they look like they are of the opposite gender of what they count. In other words, when counting a masculine noun, the number is spelled with a feminine suffix, whereas when counting a feminine noun, the number is spelled without a suffix (as is typical for the spelling of masculine words). This is sometimes called chiastic concord. See Williams 95b. (7:14) (meaning dubious). Takes us = מין kind, species under BDB 568a. Root = מ ין back to Genesis 1.
