Do you wonder what your Catholic spouse believes and why? Have you ever thought about entering the Catholic Church? Have you been baptized but have not yet received the Sacraments of Eucharist and Confirmation? If you answered yes to any of these, we hope you ll consider the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA). Our RCIA program offers the opportunity to learn about the Church s beliefs, Biblical foundations, and beauty as well as her 2000-year-old history, traditions, and practices. Our classes focus on the teaching of the Church and the experience of being Catholic. They will prepare you to enter the Church at Easter, when we celebrate the sacraments of Baptism, First Communion, and Confirmation. Please join our RCIA process, to ask your questions, get answers, and share your own insights and faith story. YOU HAVE NOTHING TO LOSE AND ETERNITY TO GAIN! For more information, please contact us at (719) 633-2132, Ext. 0 or rcia@holytrinitycos.org. New Parishioners Not a parishioner of Holy Trinity? There are many reasons to become a registered member: religious education classes, opportunities for Christian service in the community, letters of recommendation to serve as godparents and sponsors for newcomers to the faith, pre-printed tithing envelopes (if desired), an annual report of your charitable offerings and a subscription to the Colorado Catholic Herald. Registration forms are available in the foyers or online www.holytrinitycos.org.

Dear Holy Trinity Parishioners, I am Joshua Wojcik. My family and I have been parishioners for over two years now, and I have been an altar server for much of that time. I am currently in the St. John Paul II House of Discernment which is hosted by the Community of St John in Princeville, Illinois, in order to discern a vocation to the priesthood. We do many activities like daily Mass, adoration, philosophy and theology classes as well as pilgrimages, missionary activities, and, we are even planning to pilgrimage to World Youth Day 2019 in Panama. However, these many activities can get expensive very quickly and I wanted to, therefore, ask for your assistance both spiritual and financial. Every little bit is very helpful! To learn more about the St John Paul II House of Discernment go to: http://csjohn.org/ministries/ If you would like to contribute financially please make checks payable to Joshua Wojcik and mail to 11223 West Legion Hall Rd. Princeville, Illinois, 61559. I thank you all for any contribution that you can make financially and for your prayers. I will continue to pray for you. God Bless! Sincerely, Joshua Wojcik Valentine Date Night Attention Lectors, EMHCs and Greeters We are currently scheduling Lectors, EMHCs and Greeters for February through May. There is no point worrying about what talents and abilities other people have. If you don t have them, you don t need them for your mission. So get on out there and do good works. Let your light shine! Matthew Kelly Resisting Happiness, p. 163 Second Collection Next weekend we will have a second collection for the Church in Latin America. For many in Latin America and the Caribbean, a rising secular culture, difficult rural terrain, and a shortage of ministers present obstacles to practicing the faith. Your support to the collection provides lay leadership training, catechesis, priestly and religious formation, and other programs to share our faith with those who long to hear the Good News of Christ. Please be generous. Adult Faith Formation RETURN: How to Draw Loved Ones Back to the Church Almost all of us have family members or friends who have left the Church or totally lost their faith. But knowing Jesus delayed His Passion until He had founded His Church and knowing He set it up as the safest, surest way to reach our heavenly destination we need to help bring all those we care about back home! Our series RETURN: How to Draw Loved Ones Back to the Church will focus on many myths about fallenaway Catholics, and the mistakes we often make regarding them. It will equip us to plant the seeds, start the conversation, advance the dialogue, and close the loop with loved ones who have left. This week, we will discuss the five things we usually do wrong, the disciplines we need to practice, and the steps we can take to prepare ourselves including developing a brief personal testimony we can share. Date Jan 13 Jan 20 Jan 27 Feb 3 Feb 10 Feb 17 Feb 24 Mar 3 Topic Return 1: Introduction Return 2: The Basics Return 3: Getting Started Return 4: Taking the Next Steps Return 5: Personal Objections Moral Objections Theological Objections One Step Forward Join us Sundays at 9:15 AM in the Hope House. For more information about these and future Adult Faith Formation topics, contact Phil & Connie Pratt at 719-331-8239. Thursday Morning Bible Study A new study will begin January 24 entitled "Why We Worship" by Dr Brant Pitre There is no cost to this study. It is a six session course that looks at Catholic worship practices, the Mass and the Jewish roots of our traditions. We meet on the 2nd and 4th Thursday of each month. Please join us.

HOLY TRINITY CATHOLIC CHURCH January 20, 2019 Spiritual Work of Mercy We would like to begin a 54 day Rosary novena for all of the priests in our diocese, for our seminarians, for Bishop Sheridan, and for the new Bishop that will replace him one day. Given the turmoil our church is in, it is a very difficult time to be a priest, with persecution coming from both outside and inside the Church. Below is a Novena you can pray through February 28, the eve of March: the month dedicated to St. Joseph, patron of the Universal Church. The more people joining in, the better. Feel free to expand the intentions to encompass your personal intentions, our whole country, and the Church as a whole. Novena to Our Lady of Hope O Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of Grace, Hope of the world. Hear us, your children, who cry to you. Let Us Pray: O God, Who by the marvelous protection of the Blessed Virgin Mary has strengthened us firmly in hope, grant we beseech You, that by persevering in prayer at her admonition, we may obtain the favors we devoutly implore. Through Christ Our Lord. Amen Prayer to Our Lady of Hope O Mary, my Mother, I kneel before you with heavy heart. The burden of my sins oppresses me. The knowledge of my weakness discourages me. I am beset by fears and temptations of every sort. Yet I am so attached to the things of this world that instead of longing for Heaven I am filled with dread at the thought of death. O Mother of Mercy, have pity on me in my distress. You are all-powerful with your Divine Son. He can refuse no request of your Immaculate Heart. Show yourself a true Mother to me by being my advocate before His throne. O Refuge of Sinners and Hope of the Hopeless, to whom shall I turn if not you? Obtain for me, then, O Mother of Hope, the grace of true sorrow for my sins, the gift of perfect resignation to God s Holy Will, and the courage to take up my cross and follow Jesus. Beg of His Sacred Heart the special favor that I ask in this novena. (Make your request.) But above all I pray, O dearest Mother, that through your most powerful intercession my heart may be filled with Holy Hope, so that in life s darkest hour I may never fail to trust in God my Savior, but by walking in the way of His commandments I may merit to be united with Him, and with you in the eternal joys of Heaven. Amen. Mary, our Hope, have pity on us. Hope of the Hopeless, pray for us. Say three (3) Hail Marys Vocations Prayer Calendar Please pray for our Diocesan Seminarians and Priests. Leave a Legacy to Holy Trinity You can have an everlasting influence on the lives of families at Holy Trinity. A charitable bequest to our Parish Endowment Fund just takes a simple designation in your will or estate plans and will not affect your cash flow during your lifetime. For sample bequest language contact the Office of Planned Giving at (719) 866-6518. Update Membership Information If you have moved, changed your phone number, name or email address, have a new baby in the family or a child who is no longer living at home, please let us know so we may update your registration. Many of our families are listed with grown children still living at home, and we would like to have correct information as well as addresses, phone numbers, and email addresses for everyone. Please call Julie at the church office, 633-2132 x0 or email us at htparishoffice@holytrinitycos.org. Thank you for your help!!
