ANNUAL REPORT OF THE Session of St. Andrews Church for 1887 pjphe SESSION of St. Andrews Church desires, with *!L gratitude, to acknowledge the goodness of God to them as a Congregation during the past year. The large accession to the membership, and the large and increasing attendance on public worship, rendered it necessary that a new and more commodious building should be erected, which has been accomplished, at a cost of over $11,000. The new and beautiful Church, will, it is expected, furnish ample aocommodation to the Congregation for many years to come. Peace and harmony have prevailed ; and the Sabbath School, and all the interests of the Congregation are in a fairly prosperons condition. During the year there have been thirty-one Baptisms, and thirty-four new Members have been added to the Church, while ten letters of disjunction have been given. While the Session has much cause for rejoicing, they have to lament the unusually large number of Deaths in the Cjugregation. No less than twenty Members and Adherents having been removed by death during the past ROBERT BELL, Session Clerk. year. d. Mcdonald, Moderator.

STEVENSON, BURINGr the year 1887 the work in the School has been carried on earnestly, and, we hope, will be attended with good results. The attendance has increased somewhat, and we trust will continue to grow more rapidly during the incoming year, on account of the excellent accommodation now provided in the new Church. At times we feel sorely the need of Teachers, and would like to have the parents come out more with their children and encourage at least by their presence, if not otherwise, those more immediately connected with this branch of the Church work. No new books have been added to the Library during the year, and an addition is needed now. The papers distributed to the pupils were "British Workman," " S. S. Presbyterian," " Northern Messenger " and "Sunbeam." P. STRUTHERS, Superin tenden t.

^L.2>Tl>rTJ^L.lL. HEPOI^T OF THE Building Committee. v\aa/v ^g^our BUILDING COMMITTEE, in giving an account ^SL of their stewardship, do so with feelings of gratitude and pleasure that they have been enabled, with God's blessing, to complete the task assigned to them in a satisfactory manner, and trust that their efforts will have the approval of the Congregation. By a resolution you directed your Committee to let the building of the Church at a sum not to exceed $ 10,000, so soon as the subscription list was raised to $7,500. On a call for tenders four were received ; the lowest was that of J. C. Doherty, for $9,240, who afterwards declined to enter into bonds for the contract. The contract was then given to G. W. Willoughby & Co., the next lowest tender, for the sum of $10,150. The subscription list was raised to $7,500, but the Committee felt that they had undertaken a grave responsibility, inasmuch as there was no money at their credit, and there was but little that was due on subscriptions. But through the liberality of certain contributors payiug their subscriptions in advance of the time specified, and by borrowing, the Committee were enabled to proceed with the work, and to meet their obligations as they matured. The Committee borrowed $1,600 at 5 per cent, while the work was in progress, a further snm of $3,000 at 6 per cent-

11 when the work was complete. There is yet $625 due to the contractors, and it will require for fencing, levelling, etc., $150. These amounts w r ith interest to acrue, will aggregate $6,250. The Committee urge those in arrears to pay their subscriptions, and earnestly entreat members and adherents who have not yet subscribed to show their zeal for the cause by substantial assistance, and give as if giving unto God and not unto men, and thereby assist in reducing a debt necessarily incurred for so commendable a purpose. Subjoined are the several accounts for your examination and approval. TOTAL COST OF BUILDING.
