Father C.C. Boyle NEWSLETTER September, December, 2018 Grand Knight s Thoughts Well, we had a great November: Nov.15 th,we held an Admission (1 st ) Degree gaining 5 Members, Gregory Biedron, Salvadore D Amico, John Majcher, Leo Manta and Matthew Doorneerd who will transfer to St. Anthony Council. We also raffled off 3 turkeys to three lucky Members. Nov 18 th, we celebrated our Corporate Mass at St. George. Nov. 30 th, our Council celebrated our 60 th anniversary as a Council. December looks to be as busy see Upcoming Events for info. December seems like more people are in a different frame of mind, most likely it s because we know Christmas is near. Shouldn t we keep that spirit, that feeling, and spread it over the next year rather that one month? As Knights, we perform many charitable tasks or events and the best part is that we volunteer to do these things. It doesn t matter how large or small, how visible or behind the scenes. Knights do these things because of our principles; Charity, Unity, Fraternity and Patriotism. Be mindful that we are blessed to be able to help our fellowman, share our time and treasure as we have been guided to do through Jesus. Advent is a time to take stock of our lives and reflect on our actions. Maybe renew the promise we, as Knights, each take to carry the Rosary of Mary with us always and pray it as often as we can. Also, be aware that, at this time of year, there are people who have feelings of depression or anxiety and we need to do our best to soothe the lonely hearts and restore peace to the troubled soul. It doesn t matter your connection to that person; a friend, co-worker, family member or better yet, a stranger. Take that opportunity to reach out and remind this person God has a plan for us all.
We all have heard various sayings or expressions. I found this one and must share it with you: The Devil whispered in my ear You are not strong enough to withstand the storm. Today I whispered in the Devils ear I am a child of God, a man of faith, a warrior of Christ. I AM THE STORM! Merry Christmas and Keep Christ In Christmas. Vivat Jesus Respectfully, Bill K. Grand Knight Chaplain s Message Greetings from your Chaplain! Christmas is a time to give and get gifts. The best gift is Jesus who is the reason for the season. But do you realize how great a gift giver YOU are? As a member of the Knights of Columbus, and our local Council (Father C.C. Boyle), you are responsible for gifts all year long. Every time you vote AYE at a meeting good things happen and gifts are given. We support the Special Olympics, Seminarians at St. Mary of the Lake Seminary, Our Newman Centers at our universities, Our Billboards, reminding people of the true meaning of Christmas and so much more. You can kneel with pride at the Christmas Crib and know that with the gifts of Gold, Frankincense and Myrrh of the wise men, you too have given the precious gifts of your works and deeds as a dedicated Catholic and Knight of Columbus. You, your Church and your Council make sharing and gift giving a yearlong event and not just on Christmas Day. AND HE WILL SMILE ON YOU AND REWARD YOU HERE AND IN THE HEREAFTER VIVAT JESUS
