Grand Knight s Report: Please take a moment to update your contact information. Scan the code at the top of page 1 or visit http://www.moorestownknights.org and click the link on our homepage. Those without computer access can contact me at 609-304-2743. We want to be sure we have your current information and interests so you are aware of all Council news and events. I hope all of you enjoyed the summertime. We had some heatwaves and what must be record rainfall during these summer months. Many of us took some time to vacation with family and friends. Now, as we enter September, our busy calendar begins again. This promises to be an exciting year as we are called to Faith in Action. This new program model will help us to focus on our faith, both our individual spirituality and how we can lead our families to faith. In doing so, we and our families will live and bring that faith into our communities and promote life. Faith, Family, Community, Life. All of our programs now fall under one of these four activities. Supreme has one mandatory program in each category and Councils must complete four programs in each category in order to qualify for the Columbian Award and Star Council. I am pleased to announce our activity directors: Faith - Bro. Dick Bakley Family - Bro. Stuart Altschuler Community Bro. Joseph Maguire Life Bro. David Lyzinski. These men will oversee many programs throughout the year and will compile reports from the individual program chairpersons. I thank our directors for taking on this role and I thank you, our members, for ensuring our past and continued success. Speaking of chairpersons, as you will see in the directors reports, we have programs in need of leaders. This is a wonderful and rewarding way to serve your council. Step up and share your ideas, your visions, your talents! Our calendar is included with the newsletter. Keep it handy and be sure to check our website, your email, and the newsletters for any changes or additions. I m asking no I m challenging each one of

you to pick ONE program. Certainly, something that we do appeals to you. Contact the activity director and let him know you want to participate. Let us be KNIGHTS in Action. Vivat Jesus! Membership Director Joe Badowski 609-332-7241, j.badowski@nationwide.com Our annual recruitment drive is scheduled for the weekend of October 6 th and 7 th. We must continue to recruit, engage, and retain new members if we are to continue the good works of our Order. St. Pope John Paul II called the Knights of Columbus the right arm of the church. Our charitable donations and volunteer hours are unparalleled. But if we do not bring in new members, our growth will become stagnant and then become degradation. To help with the drive, contact Joe Badowski. All members can participate in the recruitment drive. Even if you cannot be at Mass, you can ask a friend or family member to join. And joining has never been easier. Sign up and become a member online by clicking the link on our homepage at http://www.moorestownknights.org. Plus, Supreme is offering a $50 KnightsGear gift card and free shipping to every member who recruits 5 new men by September 30 th. Installation of Officers Our official Installation of Officers ceremony will take place on Saturday, September 22nd, following the 5pm Mass in the main Church. Our pastor and chaplain, Father Damian, will preside at the ceremony along with our Worthy District Deputy, Dr. John Sherry. All Council officers are expected to attend. You are encouraged to bring your families as well. The ceremony lasts just a few minutes, but is a poignant and powerful recognition of your desire to serve and your commitment to the Council. All council members and their families are also invited. A pot luck dinner will follow in Heritage House. There is no cost for this event. However, please RSVP with your name and number attending to George Tower, 609-304-2743 or george@techofthetownnj.com. This will ensure we have enough food for everyone. Faith Activities Report Director Dick Bakley 856-235-7972, rbakley01@comcast.net ROSARY RALLY Knights and their families are encouraged to participate in the semiannual K of C sponsored Rosary Rally on Sunday October 7 at 3:00PM in the St. John Neumann Parish Rosary Garden. This event is a wonderful opportunity to honor Our Lady of the Rosary while enjoying the hopefully beautiful autumn weather. However, if the weather does not cooperate, the event goes on in the church. Call Dick Bakley for questions (856-235-7972).

KEEP CHRIST IN CHRISTMAS The KCIC program was started in 2012 by our then GK, Joseph Graham. Over 5600 signs and magnets have been sold by Council #1082 and participating Burlington County councils over the past six years. Joe joined his eternal family this April. The KCIC Team and the Council honor Joe's achievements by continuing his KCIC program. Proceeds from the sale of lawn signs and magnets are used to support pro-life initiatives at Options for Women and First Way of Burlington County. The sale this year is scheduled after all masses on Nov 17 & 18 and Nov 24 & 25. Please plan to donate a few moments after the mass you attend to assist in this important evangelical program. Help spread the true meaning of Christmas through the sale of lawn signs and auto bumper magnets. To volunteer or for more information contact Thom Scattaregia, 856-235-5240. SPIRIT POWER AND IMMACULATE CONCEPTION RETREAT Save the dates for a Council 1082 retreat weekend at the Malvern Retreat House. Spirit Power is a one-day retreat from 9am-5pm on Friday Dec 7. The retreat director is Catholic Evangelist Marty Rotella and is for men and women. The cost is $45 per person. A men s only retreat follows Spirit Power beginning at 5:00PM and concluding at noon on Dec 9. This weekend is under the patronage of the Immaculate Conception with the Retreat Directors Fr. Leonard Peterson and Deacon Al Clay. The cost is $245.00 including meals (no one is denied due lack of funds). To register and obtain biographical information on the retreat masters go to the website: malvernretreat.com. For more information call the retreat house (610-644-0400) or Dick Bakley (856-235-7972). Carpooling is available. God rewards those who make the sacrifice of time for going on retreat. Knights and friends are encouraged to attend one or both of these retreats. Family Activities Report Director Stuart Altschuler 856-383-6961, salt2788@gmail.com LUNCH WITH SANTA Our annual Lunch with Santa is scheduled for Saturday, Dec 1, in the OLGC School cafeteria, right after the Moorestown Holiday Parade. We have a good group of volunteers, but we're looking for three things at this point: 1. A chairperson to lead this activity (we have a great set of notes from outgoing chair, Greg Klint) 2. Someone to dress as Santa! 3. A potential source for food donations. Please contact Stuart Altschuler at salt27@comcast.net if you can help (or know someone who can help for any of the above items. OTHER Look out for other activities under the umbrella of Family, including the Hymnal Replacement (November), the new Consecration to the Holy Family program (December), the Pancake Breakfast (March), and the Eagles Raffle (May). Additional activities for the whole family will be announced soon!

Community Activities Report Director Joe Maguire 215-680-2616, josephcmaguire@gmail.com GOLF OUTING Joe Badowski has been the chairman for the past several years, but professional commitments prevent him from leading the effort this year. If a new chairperson cannot be found, we may be forced to cancel the event. Joe will, of course, assist whomever takes over by providing his notes, agenda, donor lists, etc. This event is the largest single fundraiser the Council holds each year. If you are feel called to lead this event, please call Grand Knight George Tower at 609-304-2743 or george@techofthetownnj.com. We have already reserved Thursday, October 11 at Ramblewood Country Club for this year s outing and would really like to continue this tradition. SEND A HERO HOME Though Christmas is still a few months away, it is not too early to think about those separated from their families. Especially our military personnel. Council 1082 will once again join the NJ State Council s Send a Hero Home for the Holidays campaign. This effort helps active duty military stationed in New Jersey travel home for the holidays. Members from all branches of the service benefit from this campaign. Last year, a total of 99 men and women spent the holidays with their loved ones thanks to the Knights. We will be accepting donations after all Masses September 15 th and 16 th. Please arrive early or stay a few minutes after whatever Mass you attend to help. Your families can help as well! To volunteer, contact George Tower at 609-304-2743 or george@techofthetownnnj.com. Donations may also be mailed to George Tower, 40 Revere Ave, Moorestown, NJ 08057. Checks should be made payable to K of C Council 1082 with Send a Hero Home on the memo line. NEW EYES FOR THE NEEDY / USED STAMPS FOR VETERANS We are always collecting eyeglasses for the needy and used postage stamps for our veterans. Donations may be placed in the Knights of Columbus plastic bin located in the Sacred Heart room at the rear of the main Church. Thank you to Past Grand Knight Angelo Sanelli for his leadership and dedication to these programs.

Life Activities Report Director Dave Lyzinski 630-209-0166, dlyzinski@verizon.net DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITIES DRIVE We received the checks from the State Chairman for distribution of the proceeds of our drive. Included are checks for OLGC Special Needs Religious Education ($1,044), Bancroft School Special Olympics ($220.73), Holy Innocents Society Burlington County ($220.72), The ARC of Burlington County ($220.73), and Visitation Home ($220.72). This effectively closes out the 2018 drive. BLOOD DRIVE Our blood drive has successfully provided urgently needed blood to the medical community while providing an opportunity to earn other benefits as well. Please consider participating in this important activity. Also, please consider acting as chairman for this vital ministry. Please contact Dave Lyzinski at dlyzinski@verizon.net or call 630-209-0166.
