Since I will be hosting the services as Director for the Office of Black Catholics on that day, I will not be in Regalia. Blessings and thanks for your support. Johnnie Dorsey, Faithful Navigator Knights of Peter Claver, Assembly #40 The 14th annual White Mass will be held on Feb. 11 at St. Louis King of France Parish in Austin. The Mass, held on the feast of Our Lady of Lourdes, begins at 6 p.m. and is intended for all those who work in health care. The sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick will also be offered. TX Catholic Pro-Life Day!!!! Council 13927 is hosting the event and we are looking for knight volunteers to assist in two critical areas, ushering and traffic control. Texas Pro-Life Day in Austin on January 24, 2015. This is an important event that we all need to support. The Mass this year will be at St Vincent de Paul parish in our district. We all need to offer our assistance to the St Vincent de Paul Knights of Columbus Council 13927. This is always a great event and since it is new to our District we all need to insure that it is a success. This will include being there to help with the set up, traffic control, ushering, the 4th Degree in regalia. There is really no reason that we cannot be there in force since it is so close and easily accessible. The lead person on this is FN Sir Knight Ramiro Balli and he can be contacted at ramiro_balli@sbcglobal.net. Let s all be there to help and to participate in the various events. It is a good way to get some of the requirements for the ACE Wings completed. Attached is a work-in-process agenda of a description of Council 13927 needs for assist. Vivat Jesus! "Knight" in Question The upcoming Third Annual Conference of Catholic Men in February is being co-sponsored by the Knights of Columbus and the Central Texas Fellowship of Catholic Men. It will be in February at Saint Williams Parish in Round Rock. This one has a "knightly ring" in its very title: The Armor of God -- and it indeed will be calling men to step up to the role of knighthood -- not as ceremonial bearers of a bygone heritage, but as combatants in the very real ongoing battle between powers and principalities noted by the Apostle Paul. The word "knight" emerged long after the time of Paul, in the middle ages, and it lingered in language long beyond the time of Arthur and Lancelot and the Round Table as a word that represents the ultimate nobleness of men, true to the definition and instincts of real men. Real men, knights, who rise to be the men our women deserve -- what our children, families, parishes and communities deserve. Men are needed on the home front specifically as the men God created them to be, as knights, and not as the gender-neutral space-fillers devised in Satanic strategies updated from when he first slithered down the tree in the Garden of Eden. He is still out to divide men and women from each other -- and he knows he can do more to divide us by appearing as an angel of light than as an apple-peddling snake. Today he invites us to take a bite out of a different kind of poisoned fruit -- diabolic redefinitions of manhood, womanhood, marriage, and human life itself -- and whole subcultures swallow it whole. We are under direct attack -- in real time and real life -- by those who think they are enlightened by such lies. That is war on a lot of fronts. On one of those fronts -- manhood (the matter of being the individual man God made us each to be) -- we need to share and get our acts together with other men. Men do need to hear from men. And the women at home need to have their men hear from men. This conference -- The Armor of God -- is about war. The featured speakers are ex-navy Seal, turned "Catholic Commando" Charlie Aeschliman and culture warrior Jesse Romero. The Conference is Saturday, February 21, 2015 from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., at St. William Catholic Church in Round Rock. The cost is $39 online and a limited number of advance tickets are available today for $35. There is a special fee of $20 for college students or younger, and $45 at the door if available. There is more information in today's bulletin. Tickets can be purchased on line at http://www.catholicarmorofgod.com/. Now, you could wait until January to buy tickets, but that would be passing up an opportunity to give them as Christmas gifts (and I cannot imagine any gift being more in the true spirit of Christmas).
