There is a lot of information and grace in that time we just finished. As a director I am always looking for graces in people. The most important thing is to recognize the grace that the Lord already gave you, and to thank the Lord for those graces. What graces can you name from Easter, or the parish mission? Possible graces can be any increase in: (please read this part slowly) peace, fortitude, charity, humility, generosity, prudence, patience, justice, temperance, hope and faith. Reading of the Minutes of the meeting of 03/01/18: A motion was made and seconded to accept the minutes as read. The minutes were approved on voice vote as read. Report of the Admissions Committee: Brother Cotter noted we have two transfer in applicants: Thomas Murray and James McWilliams. He also reported we have two new applicant: Scott Kennedy and Louis Gonzalez who were both read to the council. A motion was made, seconded to accept the applications and both were approved by voice vote. Grand Knights Report: - We have two upcoming degrees to support. A Third Degree on Saturday 4/7/18 with the Degree at 11:00am and a Fourth Degree on 4/28 beginning at 9:00 am and going all day. - Brothers Jose Estigarribia and Mark Rettig will be the council representatives to the State Convention over the Memorial Day weekend. - Officers Meeting on 4/24/18 in the McLaughlin Hall kitchen. - The April 15th pancake breakfast with the Knights is being replaced by a breakfast after the 9:00 am mass as a non fund raising event in support of Carlos Encinas ordination into the permanent deaconite. - Grand Knight request ALL post meeting meals be taken in the table area of the Hall in order to have more social interaction between all members. - Grand Knight requested the status of name tag orders. FS needed a form update which will be provided by the Comptroller from Assembly 1860. Communications: The following were received: - A Christmas Card and letter from one of our past council supported Seminarians now a priest in the Ukraine. - Thank you letter from SJ School principal for our held during the fall carnival. - Thank you letter from the Diocese in our support of the Sugar Bowl ad funds. - Thank you letter from our currently supported Seminarian, Carlos Encinas, and an invitation to attend his ordination into the permanent deaconite on Saturday April 14th. Treasurers Report: This is the report from March as the Treasurer is out for the meeting excused. - Balance Forward from the previous month: $8851.24 - Past months receipts: $1162.50 - Past months balls paid as authorized by the Trustees: $875.96 - Current Balance: $9137.78 - Of the amount in the checking account $2365.00 is owed to the Vocations program leaving operational fund of $6772.78

- A motion was made and seconded to accept the Treasurers Report as made. It was approved by voice vote. Financial Secretary s report: The FS read the vouchers to the Assembly which were approved by the Trustees at the last officers meeting in recognition that the Treasurer would not be present to pay bills at this meeting. Trustees report: Per the GK, the Trustees reviewed the bills and approved them at the last officers meeting.. Chancellor s Report: Brother Rettig noted: - an item on Prayer which he read to the council. - Recognized Frank Sweeney for his season long support of the Florida State Council Raffle Ticket campaign. We are in the last month to buy tickets for this years event. - Tootsie Roll fund raiser - Bob Belville (new second degree member) chaired the event which raised about $1300. A final accounting is forthcoming. Brother Sutherland is working an event 4/14/18 at Bradenton Beach and will have Tootsie Rolls available at the event. Any of these funds raised will be applied to next years totals. - Our car show is back on for 5/5/18 10am - 2pm in the north lot of the parish. Expecting over 50 cars and looking to bring a dealership on board to display new cars and possibly advertising or funds. The Manatee Key Club will be assisting. - The Lakewood Ranch Balloon Festival which we provided parking services for over the 4 day event raised over $5000 for the council. A full accounting is forthcoming. We hope to have additional events with the group in the future. - The combined St. Joseph s/st. Patricks dinner with the WOSJ helped raise $750 for the Council. Un-finished Business: - The Diocese letter of not recognizing the K of C as a parish Ministry is being tabled for now. The letter s existence has been raised to the Supreme Council for review and possible action. New Business: Nominations of Officers for 2018/19: - Chaplain - Fr. Field Agent Report - No report. District Deputy report: DD Vanderhorst noted: - Reminders of the following Degrees: 3rd 04/17/18 at St. Joseph s; 1st 04/26/18 and the 4th Degree at St. Joseph s 04/28/18. - We will need council help to set up and run both the 3rd and 4th Degrees. The Council will run the bar at the Fourth Degree as a fund raiser. Fourth Degree - - Degree banquet and Ladies Tea will be in the Parish Center. - 9 am registry - 11 am ceremony and ladies tea - DD asked the council to approve a $100 program ad for the degree. - Brother Powers motioned for the $100 ad which was seconded and approved on voice vote.
