Greetings in the name of Jesus Christ! Thanks to all who were a part of our Lent and Easter celebrations. I want to thank our Directors of Youth Ministry Katrina Nager and Amy McSwain for the prayer walk during Holy week. Also our Director of Children s Ministry, Sarah Moden- Allison and all of the volunteers that helped her with Psalm Sunday, the Friday experience of the telling of the Easter story and of course Easter Sunday morning. We all owe a big thanks to Cindy Hott for coordinating and planning all of the music for each of the worship services. The worship team also did a great job taking care of all of the details and planning the prayer walk at the church on Friday evening. Everyone together allows lots of good things to happen as we continue to make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world. Yesterday, Renerle Thompson passed away. Renerle has played the organ at Couts for over fifty years. Ordinary Income/Expense Income From The Pastor Wow! We will celebrate her life this coming Friday at 10:00 a.m. at the church. Renerle shared her passion and love of God in her music. We will keep all of her family in our prayers. Looking forward to May and the summer we have lots of opportunities to build relationships and invite people to walk with us as we seek to follow Jesus. We will celebrate Mother s Day on the 14 th. We will begin preparation for Peach Festival and Harvest Festival along with confirmation and the end of the school year. The youth are getting ready for mission trip and VBS is in full prep mode. A few changes for the summer will be in Camp Hope. The location that Couts has used for many years is no longer a Camp Hope site. Those that would like to participate in Camp Hope can still do so. The Oaks UMC will coordinate the details and if you would like to participate contact the church office for more details. I want to encourage everyone to come to the 5 th Sunday breakfast this coming Sunday. There will be lots of good food and time to get to know one another. Coming up on Thursday, May 4th at 6:30 pm at Heritage Park will be the National Day of Prayer. Pastors, church choirs and community leaders will be present to offer prayers of word and music for our community and our country. I encourage you all to plan on attending this community event put on by the Ministerial Alliance of Weatherford. Some of this year s highlights were pony rides, petting zoo, obstacle course made of pool noodles, and, of course, the dunk tank. We had a great turn-out of both current CCA families, and previous families who came to enjoy the food, fun, and fellowship. CCA staff would like to express our appreciation to all Couts church members who volunteered their time to help with our fundraiser. We are pleased to announce that the Ranch Reunion was able to raise in the neighborhood of $10,000 (preliminary), which will go toward keeping the cost of tuition affordable and providing needed technology and supplies for the upcoming school year. Again, this event is made possible through the efforts of many. Thank you for supporting CCA through your time, efforts, and prayers. We now look forward to our Summer Program. We already have full classes, and lots of fun activities planned. If you know of anyone looking for summer care, please come by the CCA office for more information.
