Our prayer for Growing Together is that it will reach and support young families in growing together in life and faith. This monthly event enables family groups to discuss and respond to bible stories in an informal and child friendly environment, before sharing food together. Please pray for this venture and pass on the information to families you think would appreciate it.

Alpha Course

Course dates 7.00pm 9.30pm Including a meal Wednesday 14th November Wednesday 21st November Wednesday 28th November Wednesday 5th December Wednesday 12th December Wednesday 19th December This evening is for those who are new to our Church on a Sunday. Beginning with a meal it is a chance to hear the core teachings of the Church, ask questions, get to know some of the Church s leaders and build friendships. Meeting in the Church Hall, it helps if you are able to book in at the Welcome Desk, in the Foyer or at the Church Office, during the week.

All of us experience loss at some time in our lives, whether it is the loss of a partner, family member or friend. It is a very painful time and working through our grief takes a long time with no two people experiencing the same loss of the same journey. We want to provide a sage and relaxed place where anyone of any background or faith can join with us over six weeks to journey together and work through our grief. Also, if you know of anyone else that may be interested, please do invite them along. Who is this course for? Starts Wednesday 14th November What will it cover? Each session will start with a simple 2 course meal, and will then look at the following areas: Week one: Looking at Loss Week Two: The Pain of Grief (how it feels) Week Three: The pain of Grief (how to deal with it) Week Four: Coping with Change Week Five: Moving on How can I sign up? The sessions are free but we do ask for a small donation towards the meal. The course start on Wednesday 14th November at 7.00pm at Sutton Coldfield Baptist Church, Trinity Hill, B72 1TA. Please contact Cath Horne to find out more or to book a place: cath@scbc.org.uk Tel: 0121 355 5088 You can also book online at: https://www.scbc.org.uk/events/making-sense-of-life/the-bereavement-journey/

We recognise that December is a very busy, often stressful month, and it is easy to lose sight of Jesus in the midst of it. We want to invite you to join with us in praying throughout December for ourselves, those we know, our church and for what is going on around the world. We have produced an Advent Prayer Guide with readings and Prayers for each day from 2nd December - 31st December. This guide can be accessed in three different ways: A printed copy of the booklet, which will be available from Sunday 18th November. A pdf to download from your computer which you will find on our website: https://www.scbc.org.uk/wp-content/uploads/advent-prayer-booklet- 2018-1.pdf An app for your phone / tablet / computer - which includes an audio version. To access the online version, please follow this link : www.scbcadventprayer.squarespace.com Once the link takes you to the page, select this symbol and then Add to Home Screen. From the 2 nd of December onwards, you can click on the icon and it will take you to the latest day s prayer.
