General Announcements Social Concerns ADORATION Jesus In The Blessed Sacrament To withdraw from creatures and repose with Jesus in the Tabernacle is my delight; there I can hide myself and seek rest. There I find life which I cannot describe, a joy which I cannot make others comprehend, a peace such as is found only under thehospitable roof of our best Friend. Jesus in the Tabernacle protects me against all my enemies: against the evil spirits, the world, my own wicked passions and evil inclinations. He is my support in weakness, my comfort in suffering, my weapon in combat, my refreshment in heat, food for my hungry soul, my stimulus when I am exhausted. He is my Heaven onb earth. Jesus in the Tabernacle is my riches in poverty, my defense in calumny, my crown in misfortune. Jesus in the Tabernacle is my God and my All! St. Ignatius of Antioch Come adore our Lord during Adoration every Tuesday from 1 pm until midnight and every Wednesday from 8 am to 6:30 pm. Call Ruthann @756-8551 if you have any questions. While in Adoration, please pray for the success of REBOOT LIVE! Wednesday, October 19th 7:00 9:30 pm Majestic Valley Arena Page 4 FRED S PANTRY Items needed for the pantry: Deodorant Paper Towels Bath Soap Rice Sides Hamburger Dry Cereal Canned Corn Saltine Crackers Thank You VOLUNTEERS NEEDED FOR JAIL MINISTRY Shampoo & Conditioner Toothpaste Laundry Detergent Hot Dogs Margarine Canned Chili Coffee/Tea Mac/Cheese In one of St. Augustine s sermons, he told his followers not to be disappointed that they were not living in the time when they could see Jesus face to face because they could see Him; because, Jesus said that whatever they did for the least of their brethren they did for Him. This how we see Jesus. In this year of Divine Mercy, please reflect on the corporal work of mercy that instructs us to visit the imprisoned. St. Matthew s Parish is unique in that we, along with some non catholic churches in our area, share in the jail ministry at the Flathead County Detention Center. Our time is the second Saturday of every month. Male volunteers bring the word of God to the men and women volunteers to the women. Be assured that the inmates are open to listening to the word of God which usually consists of Sunday s readings. In doing the Lord s will by serving in this ministry, volunteers express a deep sense of joy and a unique spiritual feeling of peace which settles over them as they leave the hour. Please open up your hearts and prayers and consider this ministry. New volunteers pair up with an existing volunteer to grow comfortable in the ministry. No special qualifications are necessary, just a desire to fulfill God s charge to serve a very needy population. For more information, please call Rod Stell at 253-4411.
