Ladies Auxiliary President, Elaine Morris 414-213-7446 524 Council Classified Advertisements - Involved Members Needed: As a member of Council 524 for the past 11 years, I have been fortunate to serve in many official capacities supporting our Council, Center Board & Foundation. Currently serving as your State Treasurer for the Wisconsin State Council, the obligations required to serve our State faithfully, is necessitating my need to reduce the number of positions I currently serve for our council. We are looking for members that would have an interest, with appropriate training to take on my current additional roles as your Financial Secretary, Compass Newsletter Editor, and Center Board Treasurer. As State Treasurer, I am currently functioning as the Chief Financial Officer for the State, as well as the State Officer in charge of the Milw Diocese 66 councils, and 14 District Deputies efforts to grow our order. If you have an interest for any of these positions. Please contact me. My info in on page 2 of this letter. Respectfully, Patrick Reiff, State Treasurer, Wisconsin State Council 3

Grand Knight Article: At our last Council meeting, I was elected by the membership present to replace our current Grand Knight Joseph Kocinski as your new Grand Knight for the balance of this fraternal year. My family expresses our deep & sincere condolences to Grand Knight Joseph s family. On his premature passing. Brother Knight, John Ballogh was elected to assume my previous position as your Deputy Grand Knight. With your help, we will work to carry on the mission of our order in the memory of Grand Knight Joseph Kocinski May he Rest in Peace Grand Knight Chris Mohrbacker Vocations Article Timeless words of Thomas Merton from The Seven Storey Mountain, 1948. Since world powers now exclude God from peace conferences, can there be any doubt where wars come from? The more they speak of peace, it seems the more frequent and more terrifying wars become. Because of so many wars, people might think that no merciful God exists. But on the contrary, consider how in spite of centuries of sin and greed and lust and cruelty and hatred and avarice and oppression and injustice - spawned by our free will - the human race actually still recovers and still produces men and women who overcome evil with good, hatred with love, greed with charity, lust and cruelty with sanctity. How could all this be possible without the merciful love of God pouring out His grace upon us? It is only the infinite mercy and love of God that prevents us from tearing ourselves to pieces and destroying His entire creation long ago; it is that infinite mercy which enables all the quiet, hidden, placid and truly good people of the world to praise His glory. Roger Leto, Vocations. 524 Center Board Update As many of you are aware, 3 years ago, our prior Club House Mgr. Michael Jopp entered into a 3 year lease agreement to use our building under the name of WG s Banquet and Entertainment Center. As of August 31st. 2016 his 3 year lease of the building has ended. And all of his personal property has been removed from the bldg. The 524 Center Inc. Board of Directors are actively involved in the process of selling the building. Although the Clubhouse is back under the 524 Center Inc. It is not being utilized for any public venues. To reduce our monthly energy costs. All non essential equipment has been turned off, and the building is only being used for the Center Board, 524 Council and 524 Ladies Auxiliary monthly meetings. At this time, the building has not been sold, and we will keep the membership up to date as this endeavor moves forward. Patrick Reiff 524 Center Inc. Treasurer A MESSAGE FROM OUR KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS SUPREME HEADQUARTERS: In just a few short weeks, Knights of Columbus councils will have one of the best opportunities of the year to recruit new members.
