Later in the 1800's, the work of the Society began to spread through the world. It happened when a young Catholic named Blessed Frederick Ozanam, was challenged as to what he and his Church were doing for the poor. With God's blessing, he followed Jesus teaching and said, "Let us go out to the poor." This October, Pope Francis will celebrate the 400 year anniversary of the St. Vincent de Paul Society by celebrating Mass in Rome attended by Vincentians f r o m a l l o v e r t h e w o r l d. Here at Holy Child, our Conference of St. Vincent de Paul carries out the valuable mission of assisting the poor. By your donations to the poor on the first Sunday of each month, you enable us to continue helping those in need in the East Mountains.
