Beloved, It is my prayer that all in this household of faith had a wonderful Thanksgiving. Thanksgiving offers us an opportunity as the people of God to push the pause button for a time of reflection to discern how we are managing our time and faith. It is also a time to thank God for the work that God had started in us with the birth of Christ. Today is the second Sunday of Advent. The word advent refers to the arrival of a notable person, thing, or event. Synonyms for advent include words like emergence, appearance, birth, rise, approach, or coming. For believers, the Advent season is when we prepare for the coming of our King, the birth of our Deliverer, and the nearness of His grace. The prophet Isaiah said: Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign. Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel. (Isaiah 7: 14). Advent reminds us of all God has fulfilled in Christ s coming to this earth, all God fulfills now, and all to be fulfilled until, and when Jesus comes again. My prayer during this Advent season is that God would continue to be with us (Immanuel). Therefore, let us walk in confidence knowing that God is with us and promised not to leave us and is coming back for us. May you be blessed through our study, praise and worship of Jesus Christ, and may the story of His birth continue to bless you and enrich you this Advent. With a Shepherd s Love, Pastor Lacey

**THE CALL TO WORSHIP SUNDAY, DECEMBER 7, 2014 8:00 A.M. & 11:00 A.M. THE ORDER OF WORSHIP 7:45 & 10:45 A.M. Praise & Worship "How can this be?" Mary questioned in first response to growing the baby. Then, with the nearness of God in an angel's words, Mary came to terms with her future. Here we are, servants of the Lord; let it be with us according to your word! Our "Yes" to God means more if there is the possibility of saying, "No." Here we are, servants of the Lord; let it be with us according to your word! This day you can say "Yes" to God's assignment, which is waiting for you every day. Here we are, servants of the Lord; let it be with us according to your word! **THE EVOCATION (In Unison) Mighty God, you have done great things for us, looking down upon your lowly servants, and magnifying your power in our lives. Our spirits rejoice in God our Savior. King of kings, Lord of lords, we praise your works, your name, your love! Amen. **THE HYMN OF PRAISE 54.... Today ~ December 7 ~ 2014 Sermonic Scripture: LUKE 3:4-6 (NIV) 8:00 A.M. & 11:00 A.M. 46 And Mary said: My soul glorifies the Lord 47 and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior, 48 for he has been mindful of the humble state of his servant. From now on all generations will call me blessed, 49 for the Mighty One has done great things for me holy is his name. 50 His mercy extends to those who fear him, from generation to generation. 51 He has performed mighty deeds with his arm; he has scattered those who are proud in their inmost thoughts. 52 He has brought down rulers from their thrones but has lifted up the humble. 53 He has filled the hungry with good things but has sent the rich away empty. 54 He has helped his servant Israel, remembering to be merciful 55 to Abraham and his descendants forever, just as he promised our ancestors.
