March 2018 Easter Beginner s Bible (pp. 453-458) Jesus is alive! This is a recommended schedule. You can adjust, but do make time for the lesson and the activity! 15 minutes Check in and play time 5 minutes Clean up toys 10 minutes Prayer/sing/snack 5 minutes Lesson/story time 10 minutes Lesson activity/craft 5 minutes Song time 10 minutes Play and clean up time It s Easter time! We won t be focusing too much on Jesus death, since two year-olds aren t very likely to grasp that concept. Instead, we focus on how we can celebrate Jesus being ALIVE today, and how he s always with us. As you check in kids, be sure to ask parents if their kids are potty-trained or are working on it. And so you know - if there is an "accident" we've got some clothes available to send them home in. Not sure where to find clothes? Call the Info Center to have someone help you. The number should be posted in your room. Today we have two videos for Large Group, made especially for two-year olds! Make sure the DVD player is working before you start Large Group (Or the keynote presentation, if your room is enabled for that.)

Goal: Help kids understand God s story in a language they understand. Why? We want kids to believe that God loves them, and a great way to do that is to help them experience stories about how much he loves us! Tip: It s celebration time! Help kids understand that Jesus is alive and with us today and that means we can celebrate! ACTIVITY 1 Supplies needed: Noise-makers It s time to celebrate! Remind kids that Jesus is alive, and that means we can celebrate and be happy! Hand each kid a noise-maker and turn on some Kids Club music. Lead kids in dancing and shaking their noise-makers to make fun noises and celebrate that Jesus is alive! *Noise-makers will be used all month. Please don t send them home with kids! ACTIVITY 2 Supplies needed: Easter coloring page and crayons Hand each kid a coloring page. As kids color their page, ask: Is Jesus our king? (Yes!) Is Jesus alive today? (Yes!)

Today s lesson has a story video and short song video. Feel free to dim the lights to help direct kids attention to the TV screen. As you read from the Beginner s Bible, pause and ask kids questions! It will help redirect their attention in case they re distracted. INTRO Hi everybody! It s so good to see you today. This is the Bible, and it s a very special book! (Show the Bible to kids) It s all about God, and how much he loves us. God loves me (Point to yourself) and God loves you! (Point to kids) God loves us so much, that he sent someone to rescue us from all the sad things in the world. That rescuer is Jesus! Can you say Jesus? (Let kids respond.) Good job. Jesus lived on earth, so that he could be close to us. Give yourself a big hug! (Let kids respond.) Let s watch a video to see how Jesus rescued us! Video: Easter (Story) ENGAGE At first, all of Jesus friends and family were sad, because they thought he was gone. Can you show me a sad face? (Let kids respond.) But then, Jesus came back! He was alive! Everybody was so glad to see him again. Can you give me a smile? (Let kids respond.) Jesus is alive, and he s always with us, no matter what. When we re sad, he make us happy. When we re scared, he makes us brave. He s with us no matter how we feel! Let s celebrate that Jesus is alive! Everybody raise your hands up in the air! (Model and let kids respond.) Everybody clap! (Model and let kids respond.) Everybody get up and dance! (Model and let kids respond.) Good job! I m so glad that Jesus is alive, and he s always with us. Now let s sing a song together! We re going to watch another video and celebrate that Jesus is alive. Video: Jesus is Alive! (Song) PRAY Dear God. Thank you for rescuing us. We love you. Aaaa-men!
