Matthew 4:22 Just as Jesus called the first apostles, He calls each of us to follow Him, too. Not everyone is called to leave their business or family behind, but we are expected to put God first in everything. Everything from our time in daily prayer, our talent in participating in one of our parish ministries and our treasure to support the financial needs of our parish mission. Dear Parishioners, I am happy to extend a special welcome to our new associate, Fr. Michael Rennier! I hope many of you will have the opportunity to greet Fr. Michael this weekend and to welcome him to Holy Infant. As I mentioned last week, Fr. Michael grew up in St. Charles and became an Anglican priest. He was received into full communion with the Catholic Church in 2011 and was ordained in the St. Louis Archdiocese in December of 2016. We are looking forward to Fr. Michael s presence as we work together to advance the mission and ministry of Holy Infant Parish! On Sunday, January 29 th through Friday, February 3 rd, we will celebrate Catholic Schools Week. This annual celebration of Catholic education gives us an opportunity to focus on the value of Catholic education and to recognize the importance of the outstanding academic programs, religious education and service that Catholic education provides. This year s theme is The Elements of Holy Infant School. During the week, the students will focus on our community, our nation, vocations, families, staff, volunteers and their own value and accomplishments. We will have an Open House on Friday, January 27 th beginning with our 8 a.m. Mass followed by tours of our school. You will find additional activities on our school and parish websites. We are blessed here at Holy Infant to have an outstanding Catholic education program and are grateful to our teachers and staff members who are so dedicated and have sacrificed over the years to provide the programs and environment to form our students in their faith and academically. Our principal, Mrs. Rebecca McQuaide has been providing excellent leadership for our school. We remain committed to quality Catholic education. Thanks to all who generously support this mission of Holy Infant. Please continue to pray that our loving God will bless all of our efforts to guide our students with strong faith. On another note, you may have noticed the new procedures for dropping off the St. Patrick Center Casseroles. There is information in today s bulletin about that. We want to extend a special thank you to those who have faithfully led and organized this outreach and have cooked and delivered countless meals for many years at Holy Infant, namely, Mary Ann and Cecil Dust and Geri Batz. Thank you, thank you, thank you! This special ministry for those in need is certainly a valuable and loving expression of Christian service! Thanks to all who offer support to the St. Patrick Center through the Casserole Program. It s a fantastic witness to the love and compassion of our merciful God! God s blessings to you and your family!
