LENTEN LUNCH Our final Lenten lunch for this year will be Wednesday April 5 th. The lunches have been held at noon, in the Carey Community Center. We have had the opportunity to show off the Carey Center to the community as we have hosted the lunches this year. Our church s responsibilities include setting up the tables and chairs and providing drinks and table service. Also, our ladies have assisted the various churches in getting the meals ready to serve. Thanks to everyone who has helped to make the lunches as success. St Johns Roman Catholic Church will be providing the lunch and devotion April 5 th. CONTEMPORARY WORSHIP Our next contemporary worship in the Carey Center will be Sunday April 9. This is the second Sunday of the month. Usually the third Sunday is our normal Sunday for contemporary worship in the Carey Center. But, since Easter falls on the third Sunday of April this year, we wanted to have our Easter Sunday service in the sanctuary. So, we have move the contemporary service to the second Sunday for April. Since Sunday, April 9 th is Palm Sunday, we will celebrate Palm Sunday in the Carey Center. HOLY WEEK This year we begin Holy Week with a contemporary Palm Sunday worship service in the Carey Center on Sunday, April 9 th. Then, we will share in a service of holy communion in the sanctuary on Maundy Thursday, April 13, at 7PM. Our Easter service will be Sunday, April 16, at our usual worship time of 10:45AM. I trust that you will be able to join with us as we remember and celebrate the wonder, joy, and blessings that come to us through the death and resurrection of our Lord, Jesus Christ.

CAREY CENTER USAGE We have seen our Carey Center being used more frequently in recent months. This is a good thing. That was the intention when the Center was proposed. In March, we have had a number of rentals, as well as several sports groups from the community using the facility for the benefit of area young people. Presently, there is a basketball training event on Mondays and Wednesdays for an area team, and we have some youngsters being trained in soccer on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Also, with the Lenten lunches, and a Butler District Clergy Spring Party, a funeral dinner, and contemporary service, we are really taking advantage of this great facility- the Carey Community Center. We are really blessed to have such a wonderful Center. Blessing to you all, during the Lent and coming Easter season! Pastor Dave NEWSLETTER DELIVERY PREFERENCE Quite a few members are receiving The Messenger in email form. We will let you know each month when it will be available. April s copy will be ready on Sunday, March 19.
