WELCOME. We re glad to gather together as a community of faith today. No matter where you are on the journey of faith, you are welcome here, to join in worship and service. We deliver the contributions to SHARE. SHARE serves people in our area, and there is a great need for non-perishable foods. Please no open or out-of-date products. DEACONS FUND - Following worship TODAY, the Deacons will receive contributions for the Deacons Fund in the Narthex as you leave the Sanctuary. The Deacons Fund is used to provide short-term assistance to those in our community who have emergency needs. EXTENDED SERVING OF THE COMMUNION OF THE CHURCH - TODAY our Elders and Deacons will bring communion to those who are unable to be with us in worship. This is an extension of the blessing and fellowship of the Lord s Table. SUMMER SERVICE OPPORTUNITIES help the teachers and students at Westgate Elementary School this summer as part of the Lewinsville Church/Westgate School Partnership. On Friday, July 7, Westgate Elementary School hosts an Open House from 12noon-1PM. Help provide hospitality at the school handing out popsicles and other frozen treats to incoming students and visitors as Westgate Elementary gears up for their extended school year program that runs July 10 - August 3. Westgate Elementary School is located at 7500 Magarity Rd, Falls Church, VA 22043. Wear your Lewinsville t-shirt to the event. Contact Karen Siple, Karen.siple@cox.net, 703-757-2899, if you can help. If you can t make it to the Open House, keep an eye out for other summer service learning opportunities at Westgate, including Library Reading Day and Garden Volunteers. SECOND SATURDAY SET SUMMER LUAU - Grab your island garb and get ready for the Second Saturday Set almost-but-not-quite-annual summer Luau, hosted by Bill and Marylee Cassels and John and Ruth Thomas, July 8, 6:00 pm at the Thomases at 6702 Moly Drive in Falls Church. Once again, the International (well at least Moly Drive) Championship Croquet matches will accompany the Luau and begin promptly (or sort of) at 6:00 pm. Some lawn chairs will be provided, but bring a small folding one if you can, along with your adult drink of choice and your food assignment, which you can get by calling Ruth at 703 533-7292. And, yet again, totally ignoring public demand, the infamous Leaky Tiki Band will make an appearance. Mark your calendars and Aloha! SUNDAY, JULY 9 SUMMER ADULT EDUCATION - Romans Part 1: This film introduces Paul the Apostle and summarizes the historical context and main ideas of the first four chapters. Four sessions will be held at 11:15 a.m. following the worship service in the Library and will utilize the Bible Project films to learn about the structure and themes of Romans. ADULT CLUB MEETING Join the Adult Club Sunday, July 9, 11:45am at Le Tio Tex Mex Grille, 1433 Center Street, McLean. Call Ruth Bathe 703 635-4892 to RSVP. MCLEAN INTERFAITH COALITION - The next workday for the McLean Interfaith Coalition (MIC) with Habitat for Humanity of Northern Virginia will be Wednesday, July 12. We will be working in Reston or Herndon rehabbing an existing home. Volunteers supply their own lunch and Habitat supplies water and tools. LPC SINGLE SENIORS - are invited to the next fellowship lunch Friday, July 14, in the Chapel beginning at 11:30 am. Bring $5 to cover a simple lunch. July 12 Up July 26 Lion August 9 Inside Out August 23 Hidden Figures MAKER FUN FACTORY BIBLE CAMP FOR THE WHOLE CHURCH AUGUST 4, 5, AND 6 Friday, August 4 is for everyone! 6:00-7:00 p.m.- Children, Youth and Adults will gather to move through a variety of stations focusing on a different project or ability in the Maker Fest creative stations that will remind attendees that they are created uniquely as God s masterpiece. A light dinner will be provided. 7:00-8:00 p.m. Adults and Youth will view the fully animated film the Bible Project: The Story of the Bible and discuss the films that give an overview of God s Rescue Plan. Children, ages 3-grade 6 will explore the Maker Fun Factory where they will rotate through several creative activities to help them learn that they were created by God and built for a purpose. (Child care will also be provided) Saturday, August 5 is for kids! 9:00 a.m.-12 noon-children, age 3-grade 6 will continue their exploration in the Maker Fun Factory. They will enjoy a morning in Sound Wave Sing & Play; Imagination Station; Bible Discovery, Game Makers; Snack Factory and KidVid Cinema. Sunday, August 6 is for the whole congregation! 10:00 a.m. worship-everyone in the congregation is invited to share in the closing celebration. 11:15 a.m. Presbyterian Women will be sponsoring an All Church Picnic in Fellowship Hall following the 10:00 Worship Service.
