CONGREGATION NEWS CONGREGATION LETTER If you have not read your newsletter, please do so! There is a letter written to the congregation and we need your response! There is a box located in the back of the narthex to place your responses. Thank you to everyone who responds! The letter will be printed again in the May newsletter. INFORMATION UPDATE As was mentioned in our April Newsletter, we are looking to update contact information. Please take a moment to look at page 5 and fill out the form with any updates, additions, or changes. There will be a box on the back table in the narthex to place them, along with extra forms. Thank you! KITCHEN COMMITTEE MEETING Monday, April 24th at 6:00 p.m. to discuss and finalize flooring. THANK YOU! Dear Members of St. Mark, Thank you for all your cards and prayers. A special thanks to those of you that came to visit me. I really appreciated when Pastor Smiles visited me in Neenah and Iola Living Assistance to give me Holy Communion. Thanks Again, Bob Janke I want to THANK EVERYONE very much for the cards and letters they gave me for the Old Glory Honor Flight mail call. I was so surprised and overwhelmed by them! Your kindness means a lot to me and will always be remembered! I also want to thank all the Sunday School children for their cards and artwork! They did a wonderful job! A special thank you to my Grandson Jeremy for being my guardian for the trip and making it a memorable one! May God bless you all! Leonard Olsen CONFIRMATION RECOGNITION The Confirmation class and their families are invited to a pizza party! It will be held on Wednesday, April 26th in the fellowship hall around 7:30 PM. It is funded by the Thrivent Action Team. Thank you very much for the gift and party for the Class of 2017! FINANCES Easter blessings came upon us; God Bless all who are able to give! We are carrying over a larger balance into May. In addition to Easter blessings, we had also received a large contribution in March. It was requested that the money be used for any extra expenses that may arise, so a separate savings account will be opened up and the money put into it for use as needed. According to the budget, we are still approx. $4,000 behind on our income. We also know, unfortunately, that summer is a slower attendance time for our church and we will need to prepare accordingly. Checkbook Balance (as of 4/18/17): $23,551.70 Monies to Designate (memorials/fundraisers): $2,404 Upcoming Expenses/Payroll & Benefits: $10,554.91 Missions Collected: $2,007.49 Project Fund Collected: $80.00 (70 toward parking lot) Savings Account: $5,000.00 Ending balance: $3,505.30 PARKING LOT There is a need for the parking lot to have cracks filled and be sealed. It should be done this year yet. Otherwise, the cracks will get wider from water and cause more problems. The estimated cost is around $3,000. Any contributions are welcomed toward this project! SARAH CIRCLE SALAD LUNCHEON "God Bless our Native Land!" is this year's theme. Be sure to buy your tickets now- Advanced Sales Only! Tickets are $10 and can be purchased from any Sarah Circle Member. See the flyer at the back of this messenger for more information. 2

VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL We are in need of a coordinator for this year's vacation bible school. If you are interested, please contact Pastor or the church office. Thank you! KITCHEN APPLIANCES The Church has our new appliances for the kitchen now, and it was decided to offer the old appliances for sale to the Congregation first. We have 2 electric stoves available to sell. Make an offer. They will be given away, donated, or scrapped if no offers are made by April 30th. If you are interested, please contact Pastor or the Church office. SCRIP CARD PROGRAM Don't forget about our scrip program too!! This has been a huge help to our church. Purchase gift cards where you would normally shop (Shopko, Kwik Trip, Fleet Farm, Walmart, etc.) and give the church some money back from your purchase! Many, many stores to choose from! Either stop in the office to purchase or there are order forms by the lock box; just place your order and money inside and we'll get your order to you. Contact the church office if you are interested in purchasing any (even sale items) of the scrip cards. ECONO FOODS RECEIPTS Keep turning in your Econofoods receipts, please! The youth receive money back from each receipt that gets turned in. You can put them in the slot in the triangle bulletin board in the narthex. What an easy way to support our youth! This updated information will be put together in a church directory that will be available to fellow church members Thank You!
