Clyde Wayne Whitecotton, 47, of 4224 Faith Church Rd., Indian Trail, died at 2:05 p.m; Tuesday, July 12, 1994, in Stanly Memorial Hospital. His funeral will be at 11 a.rn. Friday with a 30-minute state in Big Lick Baptist Church. The Rev. Larry Linker and Dr. Doyle Holder will officiate and burial will be in the church cemetery with military graveside rites by the Stanly County DAV. The family will receive friends at Hartsell Funeral Home of Midland from 7 to 9 tonight. Born Aug. 7, 1946, in Newport News, Va., he was a son of Clyde Whitecotton and Mrs. Hallie Harper Whitecotton, both of Newport News. He was minister if Faith Baptist Church in Indian Trail and formerly served Community Baptist Church in Locust for nine years and Oakdale Baptist Church in Anson County. He served in the U.S. Navy in the Vietnam War. Surviving are his wife, Patricia "Pat" Gail Curlee Whitecotton of the home; two sons, Jeffrey Whitecotton and Randall Whitecotton, both of Oakboro; his mother and father; and two sisters, Faye Lowe of Tyler, Texas, and Mrs. Becky Burkett of Newport News. He was from Newport News, Virginia and received his ministerial training through correspondence with Moody Bible Institute and Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. Rev. Whitecotton and his wife, Pat, are the parents of 2 sons.
