PLEASE!!! bring the list of your CMA activities to the chapter meeting, or call, e- mail or text me it to me. This includes rides, rallies, hospital visits, witnessing or prayer opportunities. You don t need to include details, just the month and type of event. I must report these on my quarterly report. I try very hard to remember who all is present at things I attend, but I also need to report your individual activities. Thanks, Jean (Special thanks to Norma!)

A word from the President April proved to be a great month for our chapter. We had so many opportunities to ride, share, fellowship, and grow together. As I looked back over the last month I realized that we were busy every Saturday and Monday with activities. While we may not all be able to attend every event, I was very pleased with the participation at most of our events. I believe that our chapter is much like the church in that God has placed each one of us in the chapter and that we each have a gift that the chapter needs. In 1 Corinthians 12 Paul wrote to the church in Corinth saying this: 4 There are different kinds of gifts, but the same Spirit distributes them. 5 There are different kinds of service, but the same Lord. 6 There are different kinds of working, but in all of them and in everyone it is the same God at work. 12 Just as a body, though one, has many parts, but all its many parts form one body, so it is with Christ. 13 For we were all baptized by one Spirit so as to form one body whether Jews or Gentiles, slave or free and we were all given the one Spirit to drink. 14 Even so the body is not made up of one part but of many. 15 Now if the foot should say, Because I am not a hand, I do not belong to the body, it would not for that reason stop being part of the body. 16 And if the ear should say, Because I am not an eye, I do not belong to the body, it would not for that reason stop being part of the body. 17 If the whole body were an eye, where would the sense of hearing be? If the whole body were an ear, where would the sense of smell be? 18 But in fact God has placed the parts in the body, every one of them, just as he wanted them to be. 19 If they were all one part, where would the body be? 20 As it is, there are many parts, but one body. 21 The eye cannot say to the hand, I don t need you! And the head cannot say to the feet, I don t need you! 22 On the contrary, those parts of the body that seem to be weaker are indispensable, 23 and the parts that we think are less honorable we treat with special honor. And the parts that are unpresentable are treated with special modesty, 24 while our presentable parts need no special treatment. But God has put the body together, giving greater honor to the parts that lacked it, 25 so that there should be no division in the body, but that its parts should have equal concern for each other. 26 If one part suffers, every part suffers with it; if one part is honored, every part rejoices with it. 27 Now you are the body of Christ, and each one of you is a part of it. 28 And God has placed in the church first of all apostles, second prophets, third teachers, then miracles, then gifts of healing, of helping, of guidance, and of different kinds of tongues. 29 Are all apostles? Are all prophets? Are all teachers? Do all work miracles? 30 Do all have gifts of healing? Do all speak in tongues Do all interpret? 31 Now eagerly desire the greater gifts. Paul is telling them that not only do they all possess different gifts from God but that the church is designed to function as a body and all members need to be present and working using those gifts. If one part of the body doesn t function as it should the body as a whole doesn t function as it should. I want to encourage you to allow God to use you within the chapter for whatever gifting He has given you. Our chapter depends on each of us doing our part to further the ministry God has called us to. It s All About JESUS! David Smith, President

Chaplain s Corner Heb. 12:2 looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Jesus began our faith and will finish our faith. From the first time we ever believed in Him, His determination for us was to lead us through this life and keep us til the end, where we will join Him around His throne forever. When we see Him sitting on His throne, our faith has finished; we will no longer need faith, our joy is set before us as His joy was. He endured the cross because He saw the joy of the Throne of God before Him. Let us also endure our cross here because God has prepared a place of eternal joy for us. Father, help us to set our hearts and eyes toward the heavens and endure our crosses here because of Your promise set before us in the end. All honor and glory to God our Father and His Son, Jesus Christ our Savior. Amen. It s all about Jesus! Norma Sharp, Chaplain Road Captain Report On a beautiful Saturday, April 7th, several of us led the Dogwood Festival parade in Pollock, after a bike blessing. The weather was great for a ride. We continued our ride on Highway 8 to Highway 71 near Colfax, and returned to Pollock for lunch and fellowship. We had a great time. Saturday, April 21st was a chilly, cloudy day as we traveled to Bunkie for lunch at Rocky's Restaurant. David and Jean, H.O. and Paula, and Dennis were on their bikes, Rita and I were in the car. Three members of the Crowley chapter joined us for lunch. We enjoyed our visit with them. We all had a delicious lunch from a variety of food choices. We enjoyed the countryside on our ride there and back. Please remember our ride to Mama D's Restaurant in Winnfield on May 12th. Some of the Jonesboro chapter members plan to join us there. We need to meet in Tullos around 11 a.m. at the station on Highway 84. Thank God for our safety on our rides. SAFETY TIPS; When on a group ride, stagger bikes so that you're not riding directly behind someone to prevent a possible accident. Avoid getting too close to those beside you. Keep an eye on those behind you. Hoping to see all of you on the next ride. It s all about Jesus. It s all about Jesus. James Dedman, Road Captain I need all RFS money turned in at tonight s meeting and don t forget to make your own donation! May Holidays I m so sorry I didn t get this newsletter out early enough to let you know about National Candied Orange Peel Day on May 4!

May 14 - Dance Like a Chicken Day is for those who like to do the "Chicken Dance". It's tradition at every wedding reception to play and to dance the Chicken Dance. It gets people of all ages up dancing and mingling. It puts a smile on everyone's face. The Chicken Dance is not limited to weddings. It is also played at other social events where there is a band and dancing. The only problem is that events are way too infrequent for a chicken dance lover. Therefore, today exists to provide you with another opportunity to dance like a chicken. So, don't pass up this priceless opportunity. Our research did not find the creator, or the origin of this day. We did uncover the origin of the Chicken Dance song. It was originally titled "Der Ententanz" (The Duck Dance). It was created by Swiss accordion player Werner Thomas of Davos, Switzerland. Thomas created it in the 1950's. Over the years, it quickly became popular, especially at weddings. educates and brings awareness to the importance of using sunscreens to protect yourself and your children from harmful UV rays from the sun. This day is held on May 27th, just in advance of the summer and vacation season. Ultraviolet rays from the sun is a serious risk to your health. With the steady depletion of the ozone layer above the earth, more and stronger UV rays get through. Overexposure to the sun can cause a number of health problems. It can cause skin cancer, and sunspots. It can also result in premature aging of your skin. Doctors and medical professionals advocate the use of sunscreens to guard against health problems. They recommend an Skin Protection factor (SPF) of 15 or more. Sunscreens should be used for all outdoor activities, including swimming. And yes, sunscreens should be used on cloudy days. UV rays can penetrate through the clouds. Now get out and celebrate Sun Screen Day in the sun...with your sun screen protection! May 21 - National Waiters and Waitresses Day recognizes the value and importance of a good waiter or waitress. When you go out to eat, they represent the restaurant, and are all the difference between a good or a bad experience. You already recognize your waiters and waitresses every time you go to a restaurant. That recognition comes in the form of a tip. The tip should be commensurate with the quality of the service. You can recognize your waiters and waitresses on National Waiters and Waitresses Day by giving them a little something extra. In addition to a generous tip, a card or simple verbal recognition is sufficient.
