A word from the President What a great last few weeks. Jean and I went to the CMA National East Rally in Hiawassee, Georgia. The rally started on Tuesday; however we left the Wednesday before so that we could get in a little time on the trike enjoying the beauty that God blessed us with the opportunity to see. What a great time we had with the cooler weather and the great roads (perfect for bikers). While on the trip we had a little problem with the trike. We pulled in at a store and I called Motor Trike to see if there was a dealer near us that could look at the trike and see what was going on. They gave me the number for a place about an hour or so from us. I called and the guy said that he could get us in at a place closer so we waited at the store for the guy to call. After a wait we finally got the trike to him. To make a long story short and to show you how God works we had to spend the night and have the trike worked on the next morning (I had to be there at 6:00 A.M.). I was a bit worried as he said he should have it fixed by noon or shortly after (I saw a sign that said the new shop rate was $75 per/hr). The problem was that the mounting bolts on the right side of the trike were loose allowing the trike to drop down on the tire. The mechanic fixed the problem and also fixed a couple of other things while he was working on it. He also did an inspection of the whole trike to make sure there were no other problems. When he finished working on it he said I was ready to go. I asked him what the charge was and he refused to allow me to pay for it. God blessed us in sending us to that shop to get fixed. The rest of the week was nothing but great preaching, singing, praising God and great fellowship with almost 2000 fellow CMAers. It will soon be time to think about officers for the new year. I urge you to begin now praying for God s leadership in both the place God wants you to serve and the leaders to be elected. There are guidelines for both serving and voting in elections. Please read the qualifications for officers and the requirements to vote in elections in the CMA Handbook. Be in prayer that God will raise up the leadership for our chapter that will be the most effective at guiding our chapter to Change the World, One Heart at a Time. It s All About JESUS! David Smith, President Chaplain s Corner # # # # # # # # # As Christian we need to be aware of the fact that deception is in the world. It exists even in our Churches. A few years ago my husband and I were at a Christmas party. People appeared to be having a lot of fun; laughing, eating, playing music, dancing, and for some reason I wondered if some of the things we were doing was hurting the Lord. There were no alcoholic beverages and very little cursing, but I know there are many ways we can offend God's Holy Spirit, so I asked the Lord, "Lord what breaks your heart more than anything?" and He answered, Deception." Taking God's answer to heart I was very disturbed by what I heard because we sometimes overlook the fact that Deception exists; The Bible warns us in Matthew: And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you. Matthew 24:4 For there shall arise false christs and false prophets, and shall show great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect. Matthew 24:24 There are many ways we can be deceived. We can be deceived into believing we don't sin. 1John 1:8 states, If we say that we have no sin, we are deceiving ourselves, and the truth is not in us. The Scripture also warns not to let man deceive you; know that God's word will lead you into His righteousness and know where you are in Christ Jesus at all times, 1John 3:7 says Little
Children, let no man deceive you, he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as He is righteous. God warns us in His word to be careful and cautious, to try the spirits and see whether they be of God. Don't be deceived and don't let others be deceived, let's agree together to warn others of sin and and deception that has been and now is in the world and our Churches. It s all about Jesus!
