The prelude is your invitation to quiet preparation for the worship of Almighty God. GATHERING AS GOD S PEOPLE PRELUDE Celebration in G Michael R. Keller Simple Gifts arr. James L. Fisher The Chancel Bell Choir; Jo Christian, director WELCOME CALL TO WORSHIP One: I looked and heard the voice of angels, thousands and thousands around God s throne, singing: All: Worthy is the lamb who was slain to receive power and wealth and wisdom and might and honor and glory and blessings! One: Then I heard every creature on earth, and under the earth, and in the sea, singing: All: To the one who is seated on the throne and to the Lamb be blessing and honor and glory and might forever and ever! HYMN 137 Blessing and Honor and Glory and Power O Quanta Qualia CALL TO CONFESSION Caroline Hempleman (9:00), Kevin Koerner (10:30) When your soul is suffering in silence, call out to the Lord our God, who heals our brokenness, who lifts us up from the pit and restores our lives. Let us confess our sin. PRAYER OF CONFESSION Lord God, in the light of your glory we see the evil we have done, the suffering we have caused, the good we have refused, and the truth we have denied. Heal us of our sin, wash us in your mercy, and feed us with your grace, so that we may follow your way and tell the good news of the gospel. Amen. SILENT CONFESSION in Jesus name we pray. WORDS OF FORGIVENESS One: Rise up from the dust! Cast off the shroud of sorrow and put on the joy of our Lord. In Jesus Christ we are forgiven. All: Thanks be to God. CELTIC GLORIA

HEARING GOD S WORD CHILDREN S TIME (9:00 only) Judy Fitchett FIRST SCRIPTURE READING Psalm 30 Caroline Hempleman (9:00), Kevin Koerner (10:30) (Pew Bible, Old Testament, p. 488) The Word of the Lord/Thanks be to God! THANKSGIVING LITANY Most High God, we praise you and give you thanks for all of the blessings that fill our lives. We thank you especially for the extraordinary blessings we have experienced as members of this bell choir. For our deepened appreciation of the miracle of music and the delight of discovering the variety of sounds our bells can make: For the composers and arrangers, of challenging and inspiring bell choir music, and for our director, who teaches and encourages us to ring with skill and grace: For the saints and holy men and women who experienced the sacred in music and who continue to inspire us each day: For the privilege and delight of participating in the long tradition that uses bells to remind your people of you: For the wonderful friendships And all the unexpected joys and blessings We receive each time this bell choir plays: We offer our thanks and praise in Jesus name. Amen. Chris Urban ANTHEM The Holy City arr. Douglas Wagner The Chancel Bell Choir; Jo Christian, director

SECOND SCRIPTURE READING John 21:1-19 (Pew Bible, New Testament, p. 108) The Word of the Lord/Thanks be to God! SERMON Are You Hungry? AFFIRMATION OF FAITH (The Apostles Creed) I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth; And in Jesus Christ, His only Son our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; He descended into hell; the third day He rose again from the dead; He ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence He shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Ghost; the holy catholic church; the communion of saints; the forgiveness of sins; the resurrection of the body; and the life everlasting. Amen.
