Central Alabama Emmaus Community the 4th day newsletter August 14, 2017 A MESSAGE FROM WALK #186 LAY DIRECTOR Dear Central Alabama Emmaus Community, I am so excited, scared, honored, blessed, but mostly humbled to be serving as the Lay Director of Walk #186. I thank my Father in heaven for using me as His servant to lead this walk, even though I don t feel worthy of this honor. I have been praying for some time now that He shows up and shows out for the Pilgrims of Walk #186 and I know He will because He always does! Our God is an Awesome God! After finding excuse after excuse for 3 years, I finally relented and came to the Walk to Emmaus 9 years ago and Oh! how it changed my life as it has for many of you that is reading this now. I knew God and had been serving God in His church, but I had never experienced God the way I did on Walk #113. Every time I have walked up that hill since the first time, I always think that my Lord Savior carried a Cross up a hill many years ago for my sins; it still makes the hair on back of my neck stand that he did that for me and you. And then came Candlelight where I saw the face of Christ in all the beautiful smiling faces of the Angles that were at that service and I knew that I had seen a glance of Heaven. Some ask why I always have a smile on my face at Emmaus and it is because of all the Love that I saw and felt from the Community of Central Alabama Emmaus Family that weekend. Men s Walk #186 Montgomery Cluster Times To Remember Wednesday 7pm Send-Off Friday 7pm Candlelight Saturday 7am Serenade Saturday 4pm Closing Will you please join me in praying for pilgrims of Walk #186 that their eyes & the hearts will be opened to receive what God has in store for them. I pray that chains will be broken and lives will be changed for the Glory of God. Will you please also join me in praying for the conference room team that the Holy Spirit will descend upon us and fill us as disciples of Jesus Christ to use us to lead the pilgrims of Walk #186. And finally please pray for the background team that will be the hands and feet of Christ Jesus as they serve in the different support areas. So with that being said, I want to say thank you from the bottom of my heart in advance to my Central Alabama Emmaus family and to invite each of to try to join us on Walk #186. Please come and be a part of us weather it is Wednesday morning setting up camp, Wednesday evening taking in luggage or making a bed; Praying for Pilgrims at Sponsors hour on Thursday night and signing up for the 72 hour Prayer Vigil. Helping prepare or serve a meal during the weekend, putting out all of the refreshments, being an Agape Angel, participating in Candlelight, handing out a flower to a pilgrim at serenade and finally hearing the pilgrims at closing. Again thank you for being the Hands and Feet of Jesus Christ! DeColores, Lay Director CAEW #186 Suddenly, their eyes were opened, and they recognized Him. A MESSAGE FROM WALK #186 SPIRITUAL DIRECTOR 2017 Walk Dates Women s Walk 187 Sandra Many Millbrook Cluster September 13-16 The bathroom mirror is a reflective glass that s used to help us see that our hair is combed, my tie straight, collar adjusted, and to view that final look to make sure everything is the way it should be. Even though our bathroom mirror has a purpose in showing us how we look on the outside, it cannot show us who we are on the inside; where we are on our spiritual journey toward becoming all that God wants us to be. That can only be done when we open ourselves up to the work of the Holy Spirit. Pray that these three days that the pilgrims will spent on Walk 186 will be time well spent opening their hearts to the work of the Holy Spirit; not only where they are on their spiritual journey, but also, where they need to be with Jesus. Pray that it will be time well spent realizing all they can be in Christ. Pray that the Holy Spirit will shine his light deep into our hearts and reveal those areas in our lives that we need to surrender to the Lordship of Jesus Christ and become the man God has called us to be. Paul writes in Romans 12: 3 Don t think you are better than you really are. Be honest in your evaluation of yourselves, measuring yourselves by the faith God has given us.
