EAST MAIN STREET CHRISTIAN CHURCH NEWSLETTER NOVEMBER 2018 Volume XCVI Issue 11 SENIOR PASTOR: Roger Gardner ASSOC. PASTOR/ WORSHIP LEADER/ ACCOMPANIST: Raphael Starr YOUTH/ YOUNG ADULT PASTOR: Greg Boyland WEDDING COORDINATOR: Marcy Fry DIRECTOR of NOAH S ARK PRESCHOOL: Stephanie Hoel ELDER EMERITIS: Larry Reynolds TREASURER: Nedra Shepard FINANCIAL SECRETARY: Nancy Ritchie A SEASON OF THANKSGIVING On November 22 nd we will gather with family and friends to celebrate a day of thanksgiving. I love that day! I enjoy watching the Macy s parade and having our family all together to share in a wonderful meal. But most of all I enjoy counting my blessings and giving thanks to our God. But a day is not enough. I have so much to be thankful for that I need more than a day of thanks, I need a season of thanksgiving. Perhaps you do too. I want to encourage our church family to make the entire month of November a season of thanksgiving. Take time each day to reflect on your blessings and offer your gratitude to God. VETERAN S DAY One thing we should all be thankful for are the men and women who have served our country in the armed forces. Veteran s Day is on Sunday November 11 th and we will be doing a special tribute to veterans and active duty personnel in all three services. DECK THE HALLS For many years we have kicked off the Christmas season at the church by decorating the sanctuary during worship. This year we want to start a new tradition. On Saturday, December 1 st we will be having a family event at the church from 11:00 a.m.- 2:00 p.m. We will create a special holiday craft project, share together in soup and sandwiches for lunch, participate in some fun Christmas activities, then close out the event by working together to decorate the sanctuary and the Big room. I hope you will plan to join us. There is no cost for this event and everyone is welcome. God bless, Pastor Roger OFFICE ADM.
