The meal was fantastic, thanks to Rickie and all the cooks who helped. On Saturday June 4th at 9 am Rickie and Elgin could use some help getting ready for Father Glenn s 25th Anniversary Reception. On Sunday June 5th our Council will be cooking the rice and gumbo for Father Glenn s reception. We will start cooking at 8 am on Sunday morning. Any help will be appreciated. At our June meeting we will be voting for the 2011 2012 Officers. We are still looking for a Deputy Grand knight. Please give some serious thought to serving our Council in this position. School is out, the students and teachers are jubilant! It is time for us to move on to the next step of our life. But first everyone gets a break: it may be a family vacation; going on a cruise: the kids go to camp or off to visit a relative or just doing nothing. What ever the change in routine will be, it will be good for us, it will refresh us. On this note I will say that having changes in the leadership of our organization is also healthy. With the coming of the installation of officers on June 25 that new leadership will begin. Jean Naquin will be an awesome President. She brings new life to the position. She also has a strong board of officers to back her up. I pray that you will give her the support that I have received from all of you. Thank you for seven Great years. There have been ups and downs during this time, but so many more ups than downs. I have enjoyed being your President but I am looking forward to my new position as Board Member. I am not going anywhere except on a cruise with Mary Meilan. Praying for you and all of your family, Ellen Ledet Ellen Ledet, President Refreshments: June Meeting Sweets: Bonnie Savoie; Salty: Candie Thibodeaux Door prize winner for May was: Sandra Dietz A P R I L JUNE -- Obedience All things whatsoever that they command you, observe and do. ~~~ Matt. 23:3 It is not enough for obedience to do what is commanded. It must be done without debate, and must be looked upon as the best and most perfect thing possible, though it may seem and may even be the contrary. ~~~St. Philip Neri We all have a natural inclination to command, and a great aversion to obey; and yet, it is certain that it is more to our advantage to obey than to command. It is for this reason that perfect souls have so great an affection for obedience, and find in it all their delight. ~~~St. Francis de Sales 2010-2011 Theme The 12 Virtues of the Catholic Church. Pray for our Seminarians What you are is God's gift to you; What you do with yourself is your gift to God.. Annunziata Council 10612 recently made a $500.00 donation to Cody Chatagnier to help with his expenses as a Seminarian. The Funny Bone A lady walks into a drug store and tells the pharmacist she needs some cyanide. The pharmacist said, "Why in the world do you need cyanide?" The lady then explained she needed it to poison her husband. The pharmacist's eyes got big and he said, "Lord have mercy", I can't give you cyanide to kill your husband! That's against the law! I'll lose my license, and they'll throw both of us in jail and all kinds of bad things will happen! Absolutely not, you can NOT have any cyanide!" Then the lady reached into her purse and pulled out a picture of her husband in bed with the pharmacist's wife. The pharmacist looked at the picture and replied, "Well, hell, you didn't tell me you had a prescription." Cutting class "Jill," a teacher reprimanded the teenager in the hall, "do you mind telling me whose class you're cutting this time?" "Like," the young teen replied, "uh, see, okay, like it's like I really don't like think like that's really important, y'know, like because I'm y'know, like I don't get anything out of it." "It's English class, isn't it?" replied the smiling teacher. Annunziata Council 10612 1825 E Tunnel Blvd Houma, LA 70363
