Ginny Pledger Child & Family Worker October has been quite a busy month with lots of excing new projects starng in the Benefice. Please see below for the events for October: Li:le Fishes Sunday School, Raunds a Sunday School has been set up for the services in Raunds. The first Sunday School was very busy as we had a bapsm so the children made a bapngle (think similar to a Chrisngle, but bapsm related). These were very well received. If anyone has any birthday candles, like the one pictured or cocktail scks laying around in their drawers that they would like to donate, they would be gratefully received. Thank you. Golden Ticket, Raunds This was the launch of the very first Golden Ticket for Raunds and it was fabulous to see so many year 6 leavers a:ending. We all had a great night and the response from the young people was amazing. They are keen for a Raunds Youth Group, which is very excing and they can t wait for the next Golden Ticket event. Self-Harm Course Rev. Jon and I have been a:ending a Self-Harm course throughout October. We felt that sadly this is an increasing problem with young people and if the church can help in any small way then we should. The skills that we have learnt from the course should enable us to go into schools and offer a 6-week support course to young people at risk. These skills can also be transferable to our youth groups as well. Rainbows/Brownies visit, Raunds I popped over to visit the Rainbows and Brownies. The Rainbows were doing their Greatest Showman roune and the Brownies were doing Around the World in 80 minutes. Thank you Nicole and Andrea for making me so welcome. I had lots of fun, helping to teach a Rainbow to juggle! and I got to judge the fancy dress compeon plus to top the evening off I was made an Honorary Owl. We look forward to welcoming the Rainbows and Brownies at our All Age Service at the end of October and they have promised to put on a play for our November All Age Service. I can t wait to see what they have planned as they are a very talented group of young people.

Ginny Pledger con-nued Park Infants Harvest Fesval Assembly, Raunds It was lovely to be invited into Park Infants to take their Harvest Assembly. We looked at how lucky we are in this country to have access to food and fresh, clean water. The young people had generously donated lots of food for the Raunds Food bank, so a massive thank you to Park Infants for organising it all. St Peter s Academy, Harvest Fesval, Raunds The young people of St Peter s Academy joined us in St Peter s church for their Harvest fesval. It was lovely to be joined by friends and family of St Peter s Academy too. Rev. Jon talked about harvest and how important it is to look aler one another. The young people were invited to place their donaons of food for the Raunds food bank in the church whilst Rev. Jon blessed the food. He then talked about how in some countries children have to walk for hours just to get dirty, contaminated water. The young people then read out their prayers. A big thank you again to everyone who has donated food and toiletries to the Raunds Food bank, it is very gratefully received. That about finishes everything for October, we are hosng a Light Party in St Peter s Church on the 31 st October starng at 4:30pm but I will fill you all in on that next month. In the meanme, please can I ask you all to pray for the many groups and new iniaves that take place or will be starng across our Benefice. Help us to take God out into our communi- es. Unl next month, take care and God bless. Ginny Pledger Friday Club On October 19 th five of us met at Shirley s home for a Beetle Drive. It was an informal meeng which went very well and was enjoyed by all. We played six games with a break halfway through for refreshments. The overall winner was Shirley, and she received a box of Maltesers. The booby prize went to Sylvia: a packet of Polos! A good me was had by everyone, which was the object of the exercise! Thanks to Shirley for hosng the evening.

Kni:ers of Raunds Thank you so much to those who have already started working away on these projects. Kni:ed Mary s aler the success of the kni:ed angels last year in which we distributed over 1,000 angels across the Benefice, we have decided to knit Mary this year. Big thank you to Sue Harris for adapng the angel pa:ern. KniOng pa:erns have now gone out to each church in the Benefice so if you would like to get involved please feel free to take a pa:ern and pass it along to any friends or relaves that you know who knit. Let s see if we can beat last year s total! (please pick one up from any of our churches and return completed Marys to Ginny) Tea With Friends Please note that from September Tea With Friends will be on the second and fourth Wednesday of the month. This month s dates are:- November 14th. November 28th..

Raunds Community Cafe and Food Bank Thank you to the churches and schools that have donated their harvest produce to the Foodbank. It is much appreciated. On November 8th we are holding a sale of "unwanted gils" at the Cafe. If you have something you don't want, or would like to start your Christmas shopping come along to the Cafe. Items will be sold by donaon, to raise funds for the Foodbank. (If you have something to give and can't get there, leave in church or contact Judy (07840666385). Mothers Union In October Members enjoyed a cral session at Stanwick Lakes, together with children from Acorn nursery from Stanwick. Refreshments were provided. The alernoon proved successful and will hopefully be repeated. Our November meeng on the 20th will be at the Community Centre and Keith Gubbins is giving one of his popular floral demonstraons (posies I believe). Visitors are most welcome and further details from Judy. The Deanery Carol Service will take place on Tuesday 11th December at 2pm at Finedon church. LiLs will be available (contact Judy).
